Pov: Angel
Exhaustion washes over my body as I rest in Raven's arms once more. Forcing breaths, I keep my head tucked under Raven's chin my fingers wrapped up in his shirt. The male had unhappily dawned on a shirt when it was decided that I would not be staying at Sergeant Jasper long. This was obviously with much insistence from Cory and Marc. To my surprise however, Axel didn't jump in and instead stayed close to my side as we loaded into the vehicles with some of the Blackbourne team.
Feeling Raven shift under me, I tense trying to stay still. Unfortunately this doesn't help my pain and Raven quickly is rubbing my sides guiding me back into his chest. North must have seen this because he lets out a super angry grunt. Raven isn't having any of it, however, and sneers back at the Greek. After the Russian had basically started a fight, back at their apartment, with North, over who was protecting their team better it was agreed upon by both Axel and Blackbourne via phone that things were getting out of control. Thus the tension heavy car ride that we now sat in. Uncle drove with Axel besides him. Marc sat besides me and Raven with North and Silas in the back. I however, was getting fucking sick of their male pissing matches.
"Shut the fuck up both of you." I growl cutting the two off. Raven grunts a little but his arms tighten around me letting me know its okay. He knew better than to start anything while I was in his lap. North however, was struggling to keep his emotions in check. Letting out a huff, I hear North getting ready to respond when Uncle's voice cuts through the tension as though nothing had happened.
"Glad to hear your swearing. Was getting a little quiet in here." Uncle teases and if I had managed to open my eyes I would roll them at the male. Always the clown didn't matter when or where. Makes sense as to Luke's upbringing though. The male had a tendency to make a person laugh no matter the situation. Definitely came in handy on missions.
"You're the one who taught me. Blame yourself." I state with a small laugh resting my head on Raven's chest once more. Laughing made my pain worse for sure. The damn old man. Raven's hands quickly moved to my sides guiding me closer. I nod a little to the male as he places a hand on my side applying a little pressure to my wound. Uncle however, doesn't notice my discomfort.
"How the hell was I supposed to know that the words I was saying would be imprinted into your memory forever." Uncle laugh and I smirk just shaking my head. I was so young at the time, it didn't matter what he said, he was one of the people who saved me. He was family. Slowly laying back against Raven once more I smirk.
"Shit happens." Uncle says and I mimic at the same time causing Marc to cough out a laugh and Raven's chest shifts a little in a silent laugh. Uncle huffs slightly trying to hide his own laughter but I know better.
"Hey I wasn't a glorified baby sitter. The Academy didn't let you tag along with our team for no reason we were supposed to teach you the ropes." Uncle states but the clear smirk in his voice tells me he is teasing.
"How long did she tag along?" Axel states and I let out a slow breath. Pealing open my eyes I am met with the eyes of Uncle staring through the rear view mirror. He wanted permission. There was a lot that Axel didn't know about my past and this was definitely not how I thought he would find out. There was no turning back now though. I didn't need to fuck up our friendship by denying the truth of my past. Nodding, I tuck into Raven listening.
"She traveled with my team for two and a half years. The Academy was acclimating her to the real world. Kinda a "getting used to the Academy" phase... developing a sense of understanding in the world. That fucking dungeon didn't teach-" But that was as far as Uncle got before North let out a loud angry growl.
Thankfully before he or anyone else could ask any questions Raven seems to save the day. "Dungeon? Little crow you were held in a castle?" Raven states confusion clear in his voice as his accent gets thicker and I can't help but giggle. Did I really look like a damsel in distress?
"Not a castle Raven. Uncle means a jail... kinda... it was more like a cage." I state stretching very slightly recalling the feeling of laying on the concrete floor limp. Raven's hands move to slowly rub my sides sensing my discomfort.
"Jail? What the fuck do you mean they had to acclimate her?" North growls and I shift in Raven's arms moving away from his touch. I had about had it with his fucking growls.
"Calm your fucking ass down." I growl out prying my eyes open to meet the surprised dark chocolate eyes of North. "I am right here and I'm not dead yet" I struggle to take a breath and instantly Marc moves closer and Raven tenses but I refuse to move. Forcing my breath out of my lungs I continue, "So" I draw out the word for a moment to make my impact clear. "I can still kick your ass if I wanted to. If you have a fucking question ask like a normal human being with respect."
Seeing emotions flicker though North's face, Silas doesn't give him the time and he shifts forward. "Angel sit down." He whispers his eyes shimmering with worry and I nod slowly glancing to Raven whose eyes are flames of worry.
Moving slowly into his hands, Raven guides me as painlessly as possible down to his lap. Letting out a struggled breath, I slowly allow my body to fold into Raven's once more. Before closing my eyes however, I catch the pained look of Axel. Fucking hell this was going to be a long day.
