No panic attacks for me anymore. I’m pretty sure I’m over that. Hopefully they will stay away from now on.
We have continued hiking as Tinkerbell leads us to Pan’s camp. Something tells me he will find us before we find him. I’ve got to know the guy pretty well in the few times I had a conversation with him. I know he is toying with us. He will let us hike to the other side of the island so we will be exhausted and then he will either move the camp or show up just before we reach it. Or both if he feels like annoying me. Which he’ll probably will… There are so many things that can go wrong and I’m not a pessimist normally, but this plan really sucks and the chance we will succeed and that everyone get out of this alive is minimal.
I know one thing. I’m killing Pan on my own. No one around.
I have to cut off his strongest advantage; being able to use the people I love as a shield.
That is not going to happen. He has threatened me enough and this is going to end today.
I just hope the others can survive the Lost Boys, but mostly the Dream Shade so I don’t have to worry too much about them when I’m fighting Pan.
Now our little procession is reversed; Hook is in fond now, cutting his way though overgrown plants, right behind him me and Tink, who is giving him directions and then the rest with Hawk and Derek in the back, still ashamed, but clearly looking for revenge.
Hopefully they can control themselves until I’ve killed Pan. I don’t want them in my way. I consider letting them die if they got in my way, but I drop that thought fast. I’m not someone to let a person die.
While Tinkerbell says we have to move a little to the north, I wonder how she knows exactly where to go. I decide I’ll ask her if we both survive. It is not important to talk about when you’re not sure you’ll make it to the morning alive.
‘Tink, can you do something for me?’ I ask, breaking my head over my battle strategies.
‘You say it like you believe you’re going to die.’ She says, trying to sound casually but fails. I see Hook shoulders tension at her words and he cuts a plant a bit harder than necessary. I’m sure I was the only one to see.
‘Believe me, I don’t.’ I answer for both of them. I see Hook relax a bit. ‘I just want to ask: can you take out Felix for me?’ Felix is the creepy side kick of Pan. He is the only one I’m sure we can’t convince to come with us. He will stand besides Pan even if that means his death. To bad for us he is the best fighter of the Lost Boys. I’ve seen him fight and he easily beat all of them. But I believe Tink can take him down with Hook’s help.
‘Do it together with Hook. He is Pan’s most loyal follower. And he is strong. He needs to be taken down too and fast.’ I explain to them. Hook pretends not to be listening, but I’m sure he is. When he hears his name he looks over his shoulder and they both nod.
‘Just because you ask so nicely.’ He answer as he cuts his way though the forest. I realize I’m really trying to think this though, to minimize the damage as much as possible. I want to take everyone. Something hits me. I first was thinking we could talk to the Lost Boys to make them doubt Pan’s leadership. But now I think we really need to take them home.
‘Guys, I know how to defeat all the Lost Boys.’ I say, hesitant because I know Hook is not going to like what I’m about to say.
‘And how’s that, my love?’ I feel another butterfly feeling in my stomach hearing the word ‘love’.
‘We need to convince the Lost Boys we’ll take them with us.’
Both Hook and Tinkerbell remain silence for a second, Tinkerbell considering my words and Hook in complete disbelieve.
