It hurt because it mattered.

- John Green

It seems like we are having this dance. Hook and I come together, have a moment and then we part, both held back by different things. But it is like a circle. It happens over and over again, and I start to wonder when one of us will make a decision. It seems like the kiss from last night isn’t acknowledged by either of us, although I badly want it to. Then why am I making it so freaking difficult?

It is morning, my fourth day here. It is funny how Neverland changed me. It makes me strong, independent and it has given me things. Hook and what ever is going on between us, my new friendship with Tinkerbell and I have stopped feeling like crap. Maybe Neverland isn’t that bad after all. It is Peter Pan who makes it a bad place.

Once again, Tinkerbell is having troubles. She is staring at the bottle for two days now and it is definitely not the right approach.

‘Tink,’ I say when she looks like she is about to throw the bottle into the sea, ‘you need some time off.’ I grab her hand.

‘What? No I can’t. I have to fix this, I have to.’ She says pulling back, but after a sharp look from me she nods.

‘Fine. Where are we going?’ I pull her with me to the beach.

‘We are going to have a walk.’

Hook bars our way and I see something in his eyes, something that finally acknowledges that we have a connection. Worry. And it makes my pulse race.

‘Are you sure that is a good idea? Pan is still out there.’

‘Well we’re not going to be in more danger on the beach than here. And her approach,’ I say pointing to Tinkerbell, ‘is clearly not enough.’ Hook wants to say something but there is nothing he can say against my statement. Because I’m right.

‘Fine.’ He says stepping out of our way.

‘Hey,’ I say putting my hand on his arm for a second, ‘we’ll be okay.’

‘At least take your bow and arrows.’ And I do listen to him. Just this once.

Tink and I start to walk along the beach and she starts to kick away some rocks out of frustration.

‘Why isn’t it working? I’m trying so hard, but it just isn’t working.’ Tinkerbell says crushing shells under her shoes.

‘I think I know why it isn’t working.’ I say. ‘You just don’t believe anymore. And I think you need someone to believe in you first.’

‘You think?’

‘Yes, you just need to find it back that’s all.’ Suddenly, Tinkerbell’s expression changes and she glances over her shoulder to the ship and then she looks back to me with a worried face.

‘Okay, as a friend, I think we need to talk about something.’ She says seriously and I have the feeling this is going to be bad.

‘What is it?’ I ask, even though I can guess the answer.

‘Please don’t hate me for this, but you have to know.’ She starts and as I raise an eyebrow to her she continues. ‘It is about Hook. I’m sure there are things he haven’t told you.’

‘If it is about Milah, I know all about her.’ I say fast, hoping that is what she is gazing on. Unfortunately she isn’t.

‘But do you know about the Dark One?’

‘Yeah, he killed Milah. Why?’

‘Because I think you don’t know about Hook’s revenge plans. The reason he wants to go to your land is because the Dark One is there. And Hook wants to kill him.’
