'Flight 902 boarding to Los Angeles gate is open now' I hear over the intercom across the airport. Thats me I think as I drag my carry on luggage behind me over to the crowded gateway. I decide to step back and sit down to let everyone else on the flight first, I wasn't in any rush so there was no need to be politely pushed around by fellow english men and women who wanted to get on first. *cough*"excuse me is this seat taken" I look up to see a boy looking around my age smiling back down at me pointing to the seat he mentioned. "No sit down" I replied gesturing to the seat, "flying alone then?" he asked as he sat down, "yeah visiting some friends" I smiled thinking of them all.

"Cool where are you going" a panic rushing through me but is settled when I see the gate is still packed. "LA" I answer turning back to the man, "no way so am I" he smiled, "really, what are you going for?" I asked smiling. "Meeting some friends also" he replied, "my names Joe by the way I don't think I introduced myself" he added running his hand through his hair awkwardly. It was cute, "y/n" I replied pointing to myself, "where are you sat on the plane" I asked pulling my ticket from my pocket.

"Erm let me see" he mumbled pulling out his ticket and handing it over to me, sure enough he was the one I was going to be sat next to. "No way, looks like we are plane buddies" I said handing him his ticket back, "looks like you'll be sitting next to me" he chuckled. "Don't worry I don't snore" he added, I look over to the gate where only a few people were stood in line, "we better get going" I said nodding my head towards the gate and standing up. Joe followed behind as we checked in with the flight attendant and boarded our plane.

"Yes window seat" I cheered as I slide into my seat, with Joe following and sitting beside me. "Lucky" he grunted sarcastically as he got comfortable in his seat, we listened to the flight  attendant as they demonstrated what to do in case of emergency and got ready for take off. "This is my favourite part" I whisper excitedly looking out of the window as we started moving down the track, I turned around to see Joe clutching tightly to the armrest. He saw me looking, "just don't like taking off it makes me nervous, i'm fine with flying" he told me, without thinking I took hold of his hand in support.

He looked surprised but relieved, "thank you" he whispered, "don't mention it" I replied looking towards him. We took off smoothly and Joe's hand only tightened a little bit in mine before relaxing as the seat belt sign went off. I took my hand from his immediately missing the warmth it gave me to retrieve my phone from my bag, I opened up snapchat and started playing around with the filters. "What ya doin" Joe poked his head in the screen receiving a pair of dogs ear and snout.

"I bet I can pull a weirder face than you" I challenged him, "your on" he replied, I help my phone up facing towards us and tried to create as many chins as possible while crossing my eyes and raising one eyebrow, joe squished his face inwards in attempt to create a weird looking duck face. Just after I took the photo a flight attendant came to our row, "hello uh-" she began to say before she saw us, "sorry we were just using snapchat" I said quickly blushing in embarrassment. "Oh right" she laughed, "I was just wondering if you needed anything?" she continued, "Nope i'm good thanks" I reply, she looked towards Joe for his answer. "No i'm alright" he said trying not to burst out in a fit of laughter, "Okay well if you need anything later don't hesitate to ask, enjoy your flight" she smiled and carried on down the aisle.

As she left Joe let out the laughter he was holding in throughout the awkward conversation, I couldn't help but laugh along. "Ah your an idiot" I said after calming down and punching Joe playfully on the arm, "hey you challenged" he commented back sassily. "True" I reply, I pick my phone back up from my lap to look at the photo, Joe peeked over so he could see too.

"I win!" we both said in sync looking at the photo, then at each other and bursting back into fits of laughter once again.
