40. New Neighbour

A new neighbour? My mum sold the house to him and told me he was a nice young man. As I quietly slipped out the front door I felt the summer breeze brush against my bare legs, finally having a chance to wear shorts in England's mini heatwave, I looked to the left seeing the moving van drive away after carrying things into the house. Enthusiastically I walked up to the door and knocked three times, waiting patiently for an answer. I saw a boy with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes answered, "hello" he said smiling at me, for some reason this made my heart flutter slightly.

"Hey i'm your neighbour" I smiled pointing to my house, "my mum was actually the person who sold it to you" I added quickly. "Oh right, its a lovely neighbourhood but definitely different to my parents place" he said, "oh i'm joe by the way" he said sticking his hand out for me to shake. "y/n" I replied shaking it gladly, "anyway I was wondering if you needed any help moving in?" I offered gesturing to the house with my hand. "Wow yeah that would be great" he said stepping aside and letting me in, "so what brought you here?" I asked picking up a box with kitchen written on it.

"My career actually, I'm closer to friends and I just needed to get out of the old home, which don't get me wrong I loved but it was just time for a change" he answered as we both started to put kitchen appliances into the built in draws and cupboards. It was interesting to get to know Joe and about the stories from the long trip he previously went on with his friends, he also told me about youtube and his fans. While Joe was downstairs, I was in his room unpacking when I found his vlogging camera, without thinking I turned on the camera and hid inside the wardrobe. In the flip up screen I could see myself so I put my finger to my lips as if I was shushing someone and listened for Joe.

Soon enough I heard him calling out my name, coming closer to the room I was in I had to hold back a giggle as he got closer. "Y/n this isn't funny" he said dangerously close to the wardrobe, I turned the camera towards the door ready to pounce. I heard him open the door next to mine then after seeing I wasn't there grabbed onto my door handle. "AARRHHH" I yelled capturing the exact moment when Joe almost wet himself, "jesus y/n you scared the living daylight outta me" he said clutching his chest as I laughed uncontrollably. "Your...face" I managed the gasp out in between laughs, "its not funny" he sulked, "apologies" he added giving me puppy dog eyes.

However I was too busy laughing to notice, "fine" I heard him huff before I was thrown over his shoulder. "Hey put me down" I chuckle tapping his back lightly, "no you wouldn't apologise" he said turning and walking down the stairs. "Joe i'm serious put me down" I laughed, "you don't sound serious" he chuckled walking into the living room, "if you apologise I will put you down" I could practically hear the smirk on his lips. "fine... i'm sorry" I said and he put me down, "sorry you squeal like a girl" I laughed, "oi" he laughed leaping towards me. I dodged him and ran into the kitchen, realising I had no where to go I turned back, too late.

"No where to go?" Joe commented a large smug grin on his face, "ha ha very funny" I replied sarcastically but couldn't hide the smile. "Apologies properly" he said blocking the door so I couldn't escape, "fine, I am truly sorry I scared you Joe" I said giving into him. "and.." he urged, "and?" I asked confused, "joe is the best" he said grinning, "joe is the best" I repeated giggling slightly. "And is the most handsome person I have ever met" he said smirking even more, "don't push it" I smiled and wink at him, "fine, you may exit" he said stepping aside to let me past.

Dramatically I rushed past him into the living room, "oh thank god I thought i'd never make it out alive" I overreacted, "yeah yeah very funny" he commented sarcastically. "The prank was good though" I said smiling up at him, "yes it was, very well played y/n" he replied getting a blanket out of the nearest box and putting it onto the blow up mattress. The furniture he had ordered wouldn't be coming until the next day so he had the tv on the floor with the mattress in front of it in the living room. "Wanna watch a movie?" he asks sitting down on the airbed, "sure" I shrug sitting down next to him.

We flicked through Netflix until we came to a agreement on what to watch. Half way through I left to use the bathroom, after using it I carelessly wondered back into Joe's bedroom, looking at a box I see a pair of boxers with the batman logo on them. Sniggering slightly I go over a pick them up, "y/n?" I hear Joe come into the room, "these are cute" I giggle holding up the pants, "hey" he shouted reaching out to grab them off of me but I duck past him and run downstairs.

I come to an abrupt stop in the living room and am tackled onto the airbed. Joes chest pressed onto of mine he hovers over me looking into my eyes and leaning forward. "uh uh lovers boy" I wag my finger at him, "why not" he smirks playfully, "because I still have these" I hold up the boxers giggling uncontrollably. Joe grabs them off of me and throws them across the room, and to shut me up he connects his lips to mine passionately, I'm surprised at first but then sink into his touch. A warm red tints my cheeks until he pulls away and looks me in the eyes, 'you look beautiful' the guy from Netflix tells the girl as they just shared the same moment we had.

"What he said" Joe smirked nodding his head to the TV. "Shut up" I laughed pushing his chest off of me playfully and sitting up again.
