Practice for the Vixens has been kicking my ass especially since Cheryl gave me my own routine It's only been three days. I'm acquainted with the way things work around there, trying my hardest to keep my mouth shut whenever Cheryl scolded another girl for a little mistake but it's incredibly hard. As a result, Cheryl makes it her mission to point me out every practice or to pin Betty and I against each other.
And it finally happened.
Our first argument was over something incredibly minor. Cheryl made Betty and I stay after practice one day because she claimed that we were lacking energy. After a half an hour of brutal intensity of a couple of cheers, Betty had finally asked why we were still here. With her complaining constant, my temper had taken over me completely and I completely lost it. My temper inadvertently snapped on her, giving Betty (and Cheryl), yet another glimpse of my old self.
This was two days ago and I still regret it.
Betty has seemingly been fine about it after ignoring me completely for a day but I have to make it a little better.
I bribed Kevin for her locker combination, for some reason he knew it, and placed some yellow roses inside. Yellow is for friendship. I waited a little far away until I seen her open the door, her face expressing serious shock and amazement.
As soon as she picked up the note to see who it was from, I slide by the door and she immediately sees that it's me.
"Veronica," Betty mutters my name as I smile at her. "You feel so guilty about what happened on Wednesday?"
"Yeah I do. Cheryl is trying to make us enemies but you're one of my good friends here. Can't let that happen. I also baked you some cupcakes. I may have cheated and asked Archie your favorite kind. Plus it's Friday. We have to kick it off right.
I give her a white box with four chocolate cupcakes with buttercream icing as she still looks at me in amazement.
"Veronica, I told you it was okay."
"I'm just really sorry that I expressed my anger for Cheryl on you. Please forgive me," I pout at the end as Betty smiles.
"You're already forgiven, V. I can't stay mad at that face," Betty pinches my cheeks before I feel her arms wrap around me, squeezing me tightly, allowing me to relax my muscles muscles in her arms. I didn't think I would need a hug from Betty in my lifetime but this hug is everything I ever needed. I think I could fall into her arms a million times over and over.
Betty begins to run her fingers through my hair, continuing to hold me tightly before a wave of silence flooded over the hallway. I reluctantly let Betty go, trying to find the culprit for it all before I see Cheryl now standing in the middle of the parted student body.
