So far, no one has said a word.

Not me.

Not Archie.

Not Betty.

Not even Jughead and he's always talking.

Gazes were being exchanged among us all. Jughead's eyes staring at Archie and Cheryl. But Betty, made sure to keep her eyes on me. I don't think I've ever seen her so angry.

I stand up, naturally preparing myself for the inevitable argument, as Betty shakes free of Jughead so she can stand in front of me. There's no space in between us or even any room to breathe. The only thing I can focus on are Betty's eyes. They're transparent, reflecting the teal pullover hugging her body snugly, but the livid glare she's giving me makes her eyes no longer seem inviting or mesmerizing. In fact, there's something I've never seen before swirling around in her irises.

Some sort of darkness that is making me severely uncomfortable, but I stand my ground as I notice her fingers tightly ball into fists. Just as she did when we were at cheerleading try outs when Cheryl was trying to rile her up.

I part my lips, inhaling a deep breath before I begin.

"Betty, where have you been? You've literally ignored all my texts and calls-"

"And you go and replace me with Cheryl."

"Who says I'm replacing you? It seems that you've replaced me."

Jughead's nose twitches probably inhaling the anger floating in the atmosphere and before he could say a word, Archie cuts him off, getting back to my initial concern.

"Jug, Betty, where have you guys been? We've been so-"

"Don't you talk to her Archie. You don't deserve to even be around her let alone address her after you tore her heart into to two," Jughead pipes up, not surprisingly, but his words were. And what I observed at the dance was becoming more and more evident.

"Don't you talk to him like that!"

"You're defending him V?" Betty questions me, her eyes flicker from Jughead to me and she brought every bit of her attitude with it.

Before heated words could escape our mouths, Cheryl speaks up.

"I never thought there would be a day that I would be a part of the sad Breakfast Club. Anyway Veronica, would you be so kind to accompany me home? I want to have a sleepover," Cheryl asks of me as I dare to look at Betty staring back at me.
