Homecoming was going as well it could.

After Betty's speech, Archie dragged me on stage to perform a duet with him that had all the curious eyes on us in true Veronica Lodge fashion.

But now I was in the corner of the room alone, listening to the ice bounce around in my glass as my nerves shook my hand.

We were no longer diving deep into this. Instead, we've almost hit the bottom.

Nothing is adding up.

That's what scares me the most.

"Ronnie."

Sighing heavily, I look up when I see Archie standing here with a look of concern on his face.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah I'm fine," I nod in reassurance. I can tell he doesn't buy it but there were other things on his mind.

"If you say so. Hey I was wondering if you wouldn't mind meeting someone."

I shake my head, letting him grab my hand excitedly and lead me through a crowd made of the mysterious townies who were all too busy in their own conversations.

Archie guided me swiftly, his excitement completely took over and in no time my hand was shaking the red haired woman I saw earlier.

His mother.

"Mom this is Ron - Veronica. She's been here since the end of the summer and she's been a great friend. Veronica Lodge meet my mom, Mary Andrews."

"I knew who you were before you shook my hand. You look just like your mother," Mrs. Andrews shook my hand firmly, but it wasn't intimidating.

My mother is standing nearby basking in the moment.

"Archie seems so excited about you. Are you two dating?"

Archie blurts out a nervous laugh before he starts denying her question, making me giggle a little at how much of a nervous wreck he is. I've never seen his cheeks blush to such a rosy color and it was kind of cute to see him get so worked up over this.

"No Archie, Betty, Jughead and Veronica are just a strong group of friends. I appreciate how much they all made her feel welcome, especially Archie. All of them hang out everyday and it's the most adorable thing," my mother smiles as Archie's mother who looks at Archie proudly.
