**yoyoy this be chapter 6 appreciate**
September 1 - 1:35PM
It was 4 more days till school started, and summer slowly began to fade. Fall was right around the corner, ushering the air with cool, crisp, and unpredictable weather. Fall was one of my favorite seasons, because I loved how the leaves change color from grass green to golden brown, scarlet red or radiant yellow.
I was sitting on a round stool next to the kitchen counter, going page by page on a teen magazine, while eating a round bowl of strawberry oatmeal. My mom was in front of me, rummaging through the fridge and kitchen cabinets. She turned around, and exhaled a huge amount of air. I look up at her.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Since we're out of food, I'm going to have to take a trip downtown to get groceries." She said.
I take my phone out of my back pocket, and glance at the time. It was early afternoon, and the market already opened two hours ago. I look back up at her.
"I can come with you." I said.
She didn't say anything, but just smiled, grabbed the car keys inside of the drawer, and walked out of the kitchen. I followed her out, and ran upstairs to my room. I quickly threw on a pair of shorts, a light hoodie and a pair of white sneakers. I grabbed my phone, walked downstairs, and went outside. The light breeze ruffled through my hair, lifitng it strand-by-strand, as I quickly make my way across the front porch.
I saw my mom inside of the car, waiting for me. I opened the car door, and slid myself inside. She started the engine, drove out of the driveway, and disappeared into the street.
10 minutes later, we finally reached downtown. Sidewalks were filled with different kinds of people, doing all different kinds of things. I have a high level of appreciation for my city, because we do a different kind of event every season. For example, the upcoming season is Autumn, so there's going to be a festival near town square on the 31st, mostly just for kids since it's Halloween.
We parked in front of the bookstore, that's in between the laundrymat and the hair saloon. I slid out of car, and followed my mom down the street and into the grocery store. My mom grabbed a shopping cart, and disappeared to the aisles in the back where all the fruits and vegetables were. I decided to take my own detour around the store. I walked the opposite direction of my mom, and into the frozen meat section.
I stared at all the different kinds of frozen meats, and watched the butchers use there long, sharp-edged knife to cut open the animal's insides. It was disturbing to watch.
I walked over to the aisle where my mom was at, and couldn't find her in plain sight.
I narrowed myself over to the stand of oranges, and picked up one. I held up the smooth, bright red yellow orange, covering the entire fruit with just the palm of my hand. Suddenly, a little girl with short blonde straight hair runs behind me. I turn around to see what she's doing, then she suddenly bumps into me causing me to crash into the stand of oranges, resulting for it to collapse. Not to mention, the stands right next to it, also began to subside, leading to a domino effect.
I laid on the floor for a good 2-3 minutes, eyes completely shut yet hearing numorous amount of mumbles and whispers about a clumsy careless teenage girl ruining the produce of a grocery store. Isn't this fucking great?
I finally peak open my eyes to see a boy, kneeling down, staring right at me, with sparkling blue eyes, almost as blue as the purest sunlit sky. He was laughing at me. Probably because I fell, and bumped my head on a wooden stand causing all the produce to fall on the floor. I stood up, and swifted the dust off my legs. I look around me, seeing more than a dozen oranges, apples, pears, etc laying on the cold dense floor. Oh shit.
I look up at the boy, he had pure blonde hair, that was swept up like a quiff. He wore a blue washed shirt, and some light denim skinny jeans. He was awfully cute, like really cute.
Then, I spotted the little girl who bumped into me, hiding behind his legs. I glare at her, and she winces, tugging into his jeans even tighter.
He laughs again. That's one cute laugh.
"I'm predicting your middle name is clumsy, and your last name is I don't know where I'm going because I obviously can't detect little girls passing by." the boy teases, and laughs at the end. I rolled my eyes.
"Nah I'm just kidding," he scratches the back of his head, "Sorry for my little sister by the way, she can be such a pain in the ass sometimes." he apologizes.
I glance over at the little girl, who still wouldn't make eye contact. He nudges her shoulder, mumbling the words say sorry. The little girl walked inbetween his legs, and slowly walked up to me. "I'm sorry." she muttered quietly, and ran the opposite direction. I smiled, and just laughed.
"Nah, it's okay. I'll make an acception since she's cute." I kneel down the floor and began picking up the fruits and placing them back to there stands.
"Need any help?" he asked politely.
I shook my head, "No, it's my fault." I replied. Yet, he kneeled down, and helped anyway.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Casey," I addressed, "What's yours?"
"Niall." He looks up at me, and I follow. We meet direct eye contact. "Niall Horan."
I smirk. "You don't need to include your last name, you know."
"Yeah, I know. Just seems like the polite way in introducing yourself." he said.
Before I can respond, I hear a strong irish accent yell across the store, screaming his name. Niall stands up, and looks at me. "See you around, Casey." He chided as he disappeared into the aisles. I went back to picking every single fruit off the floor, until a male employee approaches me. He takes a moment to look at the mess that occured, and glares at me with a sign of exasperation. You're a bit too late, since this happened 10 minutes ago.
"Um.. clean up on aisle 2??" I mumbled.
