chapter 24 // casey

yep heres chapter 24 my last update was like 5 years ago lmao

October 31, 2013 - Wednesday

I skipped my first 5 periods including lunch because I was at the doctor this morning. I didn't really expect going to the doctor the next day after I realized I have severe flushing. My mom basically panicked last night acting as if I only had 5 days to live, but all I really needed was a long nap and a cold towel on my forehead. I woke up at 10AM, and my mom drove me to the doctor's office near downtown.

"Was this your first time you ever flushed?" Doctor Reynolds asked.

I paused to think about it, and then I nodded.

"The reason behind your flushing," Doctor Reynolds takes a good look at my face, then looks back at his clipboard, "is an over abundant control of your emotions."

"How will she be able to control it?" My mom asked. I stayed silent, while my mom did all the talking, like always.

"She can always try to calm down when it happens," He mentions, "And when she does, place something cold on her face like a towel." 

My mom doesn't answer, and I don't speak. But he keeps going.

"Well," He takes the pen from his pocket and writes something down on my medical papers, '"I advise you to be careful."

"Careful for what?" My mom jumped in, "Is there anything severe?"

Doctor Reynolds shook his head certainly. "No mam, it's just that you wouldn't want another situation like this to happen."

I came to school just when lunch ended and free period started. My mom drove me to school, so I didn't have to take the bus or walk.

I walked down the school yard, passing unknown faces and looked through the crowd for some familiar faces. I squinted at the sight near the football field to see Rachel and Emma to be sitting on the bleachers. I walked my way to the football field, when they noticed me, and signaled for me to sit with them. As I walked, I glanced at the field and noticed the team had practice today. I spotted Niall, Louis and Zayn at a blink of an eye doing warm ups with the rest.

I sat in between the both of them, and Rachel instantly slapped her palm against my face. 

"It's not hot," She noticed, "Or red.."

Emma rolled her eyes, and yanked her hand away from my face.

"You dumbass, it went away." She implied, "By the way, are you okay?" She was talking to me.

I nodded, "Don't worry about it."

"Tell that to Niall," Rachel added, "He was panicking."

"He was?"

She nodded, and I looked at the field, specifically at Niall who also glanced at my direction and gave me a small crooked smile and got back to what he was doing.

"I heard Zayn is going to the carnival tonight." Emma brought up.

I looked at her, who kept a stern face.

"Oh yeah," Rachel added, "I heard he's taking some girl.. what's her name again..."

"Shut up."

"I heard he prefers girls with dark colored dresses."

"Shut up."

"Hey, you brought it up." Rachel giggled, "Besides, do you have a date anyway?"

"Harry asked me," She said, "But you know as friends, to make me feel better because of the whole Zayn thing."

"Harry knows?" I asked.

Emma nodded, "Yeah, him and Niall wouldn't stop asking what's wrong, so I told them only if they kept it a secret."

"So you're going with him?" Rachel clarified.

She nodded again.

Rachel looked at me, and tugged my arm. "Case, who are you going with?"

"Nobody." I muttered and avoided sounding lonely as possible. "What about you?"

"Nah," She shook her head, "I'm watching a stand with this girl from your grade."

 "Why don't you just go with Niall?" Emma looked at me as she played with her hair, then she looked up as something crossed her mind. "Oh shit wait, I forgot he's dating Naomi."

Then all of the sudden, Rachel bursts with laughter and Emma hits her on the shoulder.

"Shut the fuck up." Emma said.

Rachel kept laughing, and stopped to inhale. "Can you say that again so I could record it and send it to Naomi?"

Emma punched her on her shoulder again. "You bitch."

I glance at our shadows to see a tall black figure lurching towards us. I turn around to see Naomi pacing towards us. She interrupts Emma and Rachel's kitty fight and sits right in front of us. She holds out her phone, where we see a collage of her wearing two different dresses. One picture is of her wearing a dark blue lace dress, and the other one is her wearing a tucked in purple dress that goes down from right above her knees.

"Which one is better?" She asked.

"I like the blue." Emma said.

"Purple." Rachel and I agreed. 

Naomi nodded and paid her attention back to her phone. Rachel glanced at Emma who stuck her toungue out, and Emma deeply glaring at her. 

3:28PM

I arrive home to see Hayley and Louis sitting on the couch facing each other. I pause and stare at them, as they stare right back. Hayley smiles as she sees me, and approaches me for a hug. While hugging, I glance at Louis who rolls his eyes as he watches us. She finally lets go, and I drop my bag on the floor.

"Casey! Long time no see."

I smiled, "Hayley, what are you doing here?"

"Oh, I'm going out with Louis tonight."
