Epilogue (Kaoru)

It has been 2 years since Kaoru and I got married. We have tried a lot of times, but we couldn't get any children. Kaoru says it's okay but I felt bad. I knew that he wanted to have a little boy or girl running around the house like his brother. I was pregnant a couple times before but it was either a miscarriage or the test was wrong.

I was now in the bathroom waiting for the test that I just took. My period was late, and I was hopeful. After the minute (right?) passed, I nervously looked at the test. 2 lines. It was 2 lines. I smiled and I felt tears threatening to fall out of my eyes. I was so happy and I couldn't wait to tell Kaoru. I smiled and hid the test so I could surprise him later on. Then I stopped, the test lied to me once, what if it was lying again. I decided to not tell him till I saw a doctor.

After a week, I had scheduled a doctor's appointment for Saturday, it was currently Monday. Apparently the doctor was extremely busy so they only had an opening on Saturday. Kaoru would still come home everyday happy and smiling, kissing my cheeks and face then we would talk about his day and how things were going. I worked in a flower shop part time, since I didn't want to work full time just yet. I wanted to enjoy as much time as possible to myself, and Kaoru.

"So, Hikaru called today." Kaoru said looking at me.

"Oh? What about?" I asked him.

"He wanted to know if we wanted a puppy." Kaoru said and showed me a picture. "His dog just had some puppies and he's giving them away." Kaoru said smiling at the puppy. "It's cute isn't it?"

"Yeah... Do you want him?" I asked Kaoru eating some rice.

"Sure, we can think of him as our child until we have one, don't you think?" He said to me.

"Sure, I wouldn't mind a puppy here." I said smiling.

The next morning I felt like throwing up almost every minute. I would crave the weirdest things in the weirdest combinations. It just added to my hope that I was pregnant, though Kaoru was clueless and though I had caught some flu or something.

When Saturday came around, I was extremely nervous waiting for the doctor to come back with the results. After waiting about another 10 minutes, the doctor came bak and was smiling. "Congratulations Mrs. Hittachin. You're pregnant." She said and smiled at me.

"really?" I asked her not believing her.

"Yes. The baby is too underdeveloped for us to tell the gender, but yes, you are pregnant." She said and excused herself saying she had other things to attend to and I happily left the hospital. I quickly took out my phone and called my parents and told them the news. They were extremely happy. They kept asking if they could name the child and whether if they could come over to help take care of me. "Mom dad, I still haven't told Kaoru yet." I said laughing and they agreed to talk later and I hung up and took a cab home.

When I got home I was waiting for Kaoru to come home. I was pacing around the living room thinking of ways to tell him how I was pregnant. "Hmmmm... I'm not good at pranks, he'll see through it right away...." I sighed and sat on the couch rubbing my tummy, "I wonder if you have any ideas.." I whispered and smiled. "I guess I can just tell him.." I said and decided to just tell him.

When he came home he just lay down exhausted on the couch and hugged me tightly. "Today was so fast... My assistant had to leave since his son broke his arm in school."

"If we have a child.... I hope he or she wouldn't hurt themselves like that..." he muttered and looked up at me.

"Kaoru...." I said twiddling with my fingers.

"Hm?" He said looking at me with tired eyes.

"I have something I need to tell you..." I said nervously. "You'regoingtobeafather.." I said quickly.

"Say that again?" He said looking at me confused. "Slower this time?" He said looking at me amused.

"Kaoru... you're.... going...." he laughed and poked my cheek.

"Not that slow dummy." He smiled and looked more relaxed.

I smiled and played with his hair. "You're going to be a father.." I said and he visibly froze.

He sat up and held me by the shoulders, "a f-father?" He asked me and I nodded. "So you... you're.." he stuttered and I nodded laughing.

"Yeah.." I said and placed his hands on my stomach.

"Thats amazing!" He said and kissed me. He then kissed my stomach, "when you get here, I'll make sure you will have everything you want.." he whispered.

"Oh? What if it's a boy and wants all my attention and kisses?" I teased.

"Okay... almost everything you could ever want." He said and then sat up and pressed his forehead against mine and gave me a slow kiss. "I can't wait for the rest of our life together... all three of us... and hopefully more to come..." he said happily.

Extra:

"Can we still Hikaru's puppy?" I asked Kaoru.

"Yeah, alright." He said since he was sleepy.

"Can I also have... ummm..." I said trying to think of something.

"No." He said.

"Fine.." I pouted.
