Liam's point of View
We were setting up the movie screen and I couldn't help but continuously check my phone to see if Sam had responded - she hadn't. Why did I even care if she was here? Maybe I would just call Bianca and have her come. Who was I even trying to fool? I didn't want Bianca, I wanted Sam. This girl has turned my whole world upside down with out even trying. When I go to sleep I can smell her sweet scent on my pillows. At night I would dream about her curves pressed against my body, her soft hair in my face, the way it would feel to touch her skin...
"Hey Liam...EARTH TO LIAM." Trenton's voice snapped me out of my daydream."What?" I shoved my phone into my back pocket, trying to ignore the urge to text her. "What's up with you lately? You haven't been your usual self?" He was right. I had been in fog since I took Sam home Saturday. "I don't know man...hey can I ask you something?" I leaned against the back door, Trenton had to know more about Sam. Lacy had been chatting with her all summer and Lacy was his sister. "Yea man what's up?" He stopped what he was doing, maybe a little taken aback that I had asked him something like that. "What do you know about Sam?" I tried my best to sound laid back about the question but I'd be lying if my fondness towards her had gone unnoticed. "Uh...not much. She lived with her grandma...I don't think she talks much about herself. Why are you so interested in her? You're aren't thinking about hooking up with her are you?" I knew he was only worried about Lacy getting in a situation like last time. I still felt bad about that. "No...she's just interesting. I invited her to come tonight but I'm not sure if she's coming or not..." I think he could sense the disappointment in my voice but he didn't comment on it. Trying my best to forget about Sam, I finished helping Trenton and Alex set up the back yard. We had about 15 people coming over and still had to lay out the blankets. As I turned around from laying out the last blanket I spotted her standing in the kitchen with Lacy. My mouth felt dry and it was like my breath had been knocked out of me.
She was wearing tight black leggings that followed the soft curves of her legs, a large hoodie covered her upper body and her messy brown hair laid in waves. Even when she was dressed like that I couldn't help but admire her, she was sexy but innocent at the same time. Then suddenly she looked up, he eyes locking on to me. Shit, she had just caught me staring at her. I tried my best to ignore her and to finish setting up the back yard but every once and awhile I would feel my eyes search the kitchen for her again.
As we finished up the back yard the guests slowly made their way out back, picking out spots on the grass to watch the movie. This was something we had started last year; we would take turns picking movies which usually ended up being horror flicks.
"Hi there." A sweet soft voice rang in my ears, I slowly turned around to see Sam standing there with an In and Out bag. She made my body feel warm when she smiled; she didn't have to try and she would send me spiraling down. "Well hello there." I smiled, she stood there awkwardly like she had no idea what to do or say; god she was adorable. She shoved the In and Out bag at me, I could see her hand shaking slightly. "I got you a burger and fries...I didn't know if you would be hungry...if you already ate though that's fine I'll eat it. I mean I got me one too but I could eat them both..." Her voice rambled on in a rushed fashion. A soft laugh escaped my mouth as I watched her stand there as she bit nervously on her bottom lip. Without a word I reached down and laced my fingers with hers and guided her to my usual spot. Her hands were soft and so small. As much as I had stared at her I just now realized how tiny her small frame was compared to me. I plopped down onto my blanket and pulled her down beside me. "I've never had a date bring me food before."
-Sam's point of view-
As I sat down beside him I tried my best to shake my nerves. The last thing I wanted was for him to think I was a dork. This guy gave me the biggest internal struggle I've ever experienced. I wanted him to like me but at the same time I hoped he would stop pursuing me. My mind was constantly playing tug-o-war between jumping on top of him and running away screaming. "I've never had a date bring me food before." His voice was deep but quiet. "This isn't...I'm not..." A nervous laugh escaped my mouth as I shoved a French fry in, I turned my focus back to the projector screen wishing they would hurry and start the movie so I wouldn't keep embarrassing myself. That's when I noticed his fingers were still laced with mine, I couldn't lie, his hand fit mine perfectly even though his was much larger than mine. I slowly pulled my hand away, letting my fingers run along the tattoos on his hands. A sigh of relief washed over me once the movie finally started. My jaw dropped slightly, exposing the huge bite of burger in my mouth when I realized that we were watching the Exorcist. Ever since I was younger horror movies have terrified me. So now on top of being a nervous hot mess I was about to be scared to sleep for weeks.
As the movie went on Liam must have sensed how uncomfortable I was, the look of pure terror on my face was probably a give a way. I felt his fingers run slowly across my knuckles before pulling my hand back into his, our fingers intertwining together. "Hey come with me..." He whispered in my ear as he stood up, practically pulling me up by my hand. He kept his hand glued to mine as he guided me towards the house. As we walked past the last group of blankets my eyes caught the death glare from the blonde that had draped herself all over Liam at the party. Her face was twisted in disgust as she looked at us. There was a small part of me that found joy in her disgusted look - I'm not sure if it was jealousy or anger but I couldn't help but smile. I was so lost in my thoughts I hadn't even noticed where we were going until he shut his bedroom door behind us. All of my previous thoughts disappeared now that I was face to face with him. He was so close, the smell of his cologne mixed with the air left me in a daze. "What are you thinking about?" He asked, taking a small step closer to me. Instinctively I took a step back, pressing myself against the closed door. "I..um..well..." I stuttered trying to come up with a reply, I knew I couldn't tell him I was thinking about how good he smelled. He rested a hand on either side of the door, closing me in. The inner struggle began to pull at me, his close proximity to my body scared me but I loved it at the same time. I opened my mouth to try to explain and his lips crashed against mine. A whirl of feelings washed over me, his soft lips pressed against mine left waves of heat traveling over my body. The taste of his lips left me wanting more; so much more. I didn't want that feeling to end but suddenly I felt panicked and placed both of my hands on his chest and gently pushed him away. "I can't." I whispered my fingers locked around his shirt, holding him close to me. The feeling of him so close lit me on fire and I wanted to let my body smolder against his but this was too much too fast. Besides I knew what it wanted and this feeling I had wasn't what he had. "What's wrong?" He asked, he tried to pull back enough to see my face but I quickly pushed my face against his chest. I stood there quietly just breathing in his scent. I could still feel the jolts of electricity running through my veins. I could see why girls threw themselves at him, this feeling was addicting. "I just can't." I whispered, pulling myself away from him. "Too fast?" He asked, stepping closer to me, but this time he just stood there, his eyes begging for permission to touch me. "Liam what do you want from me? I can't be like those girls." I blurted, my hand covering my mouth in horror. Had I really just said that out loud?
