Chapter 40

“Liam! This isn’t funny! PUT ME DOWN!” I yell out, the adrenaline from the scene moments ago still pumping through my veins. I kicked my legs and thrashed about in his arms, but his grip only tightened. “No ma’am, can’t do that. You might get yourself into some trouble and my job is to keep you safe. Plus…” He finally sat me down at the passenger side door and I looked up at him. “That little show you put on was quite a turn on.” He chuckled as he gently pressed my back to his car, the adrenaline now turning its focus on a new target. The sweet smell of his cologne filled my nose as he leaned in closer, his lips just a hair away from mine. Without another thought I leaned in, smashing my lips to his as our bodies became a tangled mess of arms and legs. The sweet taste of his mouth sent my head spinning. This moment was filled with passion and pure lust for the man before me. His lips left mine sooner than I wanted, I tried to pull him back, but he just smirked and placed a kiss to the tip of my nose. “Come on, I have something better for us to do.” Better for us to do? Hell there was nothing better than having his lips on me. He pulled open the car door for me and I eagerly slipped inside.  There was a rush of unfamiliar feelings pulsing through my body, leaving me to sort out the mess.

The car jolted forward as Liam sped down the road. We were in a town I hadn’t been to before, so I had no idea where we were or where we were going. To be honest, the unknown was adding to the excitement bubbling in my stomach. Most of my life was spent bottled up with anxiety but right in this moments, with Liam, I felt free.  I didn’t have to pretend or hide, I could just be me for the first time.

“What are you smiling about?” His deep voice seemed to vibrate through every bone in my body causing my smile to grow. “I just feel good. I feel really good.” I let out a soft sigh, enjoying the rush my body was still experiencing. Before I knew it, we were pulling up in front of a huge house in the middle of nowhere. “Where are we?” I asked, taking in the sheer magnitude of the house that sat before me. Even though the house and surroundings were dark you could tell the amount of money the person who lived there must have. The house itself was different shades of stone and the front door was a larger than any normal door and was made of dark wood.  “My parents are out of town, so I thought why not come here so we can have some time to ourselves.” His perfect lips curled into a smile as he turned and climbed out of the car without another word. I couldn’t help but be shocked, this palace was where Liam had grown up? This was bigger than my high school. Gulping at the obnoxious lump in my throat, I stepped out from the car as Liam opened the door.

My thoughts retuned back to the god like man beside me as his body heat washed over my body. He guided me towards the house, my attention fully focused on him now. This man could have lead me into a lion’s den and I would have gladly followed. The house was dark, Liam didn’t stop to turn on any lights but instead guided me through the dark playfully. The excitement of his little game churned deep in my belly, our bodies pressed against each other in the dark. This moment was proof to me just how much this man had changed my whole life. When he waltzed into my world he had flipped it upside down and never looked back. I had been broken down and built back up. This whole situation would have sent the old me into an anxiety fit like no other. The new me was different, she was excited and the feelings rushing through my body were indescribable. This man changed everything, and I couldn’t help but admit to myself I had fallen head over heels for him.

“I love you…” the words shot from my mouth before I could stop them. My body frozen in its spot when I had realized what had just come out of my mouth. The heat from my cheeks burned down my neck and I was sure that even in the dark he could see just how red my face was. His body slowly turned towards mine, I could see the hint of a smirk on his gorgeous mouth. His body closed in on me and the next thing I knew I was pressed flush to the wall. That was it, he had managed to set my entire body aflame with only his touch. His lips gently brushed against my jaw bone, sending chills down my spine and straight to my core. “Funny you should say that…because I love you.” The warmth from his breath caressed my neck before placing a few soft kisses to my skin.
