I looked out at the crowd as my hand was raised in victory. Nikki groaned lying down on the mat as I smirked down at her. Another thing to tick off the wish list, a win on my debut on Smackdown. After years of pushing my brother, Dean, had finally got the company to sign on the dotted line. I could hear the crowd cheer for me to hit Nikki once again with Dirty Deeds, and I mean it would have been rude not to. I grabbed her extensions then dropped her face first onto the mat. I smiled soaking up the crowd's reaction when I was interrupted by the theme song of John Cena.
John ran down into the ring, stepping forwards making me back away. His eyebrows were furrowed terrifying me. "How dare you," he bellowed, sending a shiver down my spine. I continued to move backwards until I felt the turnbuckle dig into my back.
"Please leave me alone," I begged looking to the back for some help. There was a clear weight, and height difference between us, I knew if he laid a hand on me he could break me in half. He got up so he was millimetres away from my face, his hand slowly raising and clasping around my neck. I tried to kick out but his grip took me off my feet.
"You've been here one night and you think you can treat my woman like that," he carried on speaking but I couldn't hear him over the loud theme music that played out. AJ ran down into the ring, pulling John off of me and hitting him with the Styles Clash. He then ran over to me, wrapping his arm around my waist. I held my sore neck tightly, sitting down on the mat.
"Come on lets get you backstage," he whispered helping me up. I looked up, his baby blue eyes striking me. He had a small stand of hair that fell in front of his face, just like how my brown hair fell. He slowly helped me up, keeping a strong hold around me the entire time.
We walked all the way back down to the trainer's room where my neck could be checked over properly. "Ellie!" I looked across and saw Dean running over to me from the opposite direction. "I saw what happened, are you alright?" He wrapped his arm around me, removing AJ's. "Look mate, thanks and all, but we don't need you anymore."
"Yeah, sure, well I hope you're alright Ellie." I smiled thankfully at him, watching him walk away. A huge part of me wanted to call him back, he had already done so much for me I didn't want him to walk away.
"Thank you," I whispered, but he was too far away to hear me. Dean opened up the door leading me in. "You didn't have to be so rude, you should have been the one out there in the first place, he was a nice person." I was led in to sit on one of the chairs.
"You don't know him like I do, he's not worth your time." I sighed watching the doctor walk in. "Ellie, just don't go there. He hooks up with all the girls and then drops them days later." A romantic thought about AJ hadn't even crossed my mind until Dean said that, but then once I did think about it, it seemed pretty amazing to have someone like him in my life. The doctor moved around examining my neck in different places.
"Dean, he was doing a nice gesture, just calm down." I told him.
"Just do as I say." He told me, watching on as I began rotating my neck for the checks. The check was much more thorough them I thought, the doctor checked every bit of my neck and the surrounding area. I laid down with Dean beside me when we heard a knock at the door. We both looked over and saw AJ peeping around the door. I heard Dean sigh behind me, but I smiled at AJ.
"Hi," I greeted him, waving him over to come in. I glared across at Dean who stayed silent.
"How are you?" He asked taking a seat next to Dean.
"I'm alright, nothing a day of rest won't cure." He smiled nodding over at me. "I don't think I got to say a proper thank you to you earlier."
"You don't need to thank me, I'm sure all the other guys would have done the same." Dean rolled his eyes at the obvious dig at him, but I didn't mind, I actually found it quite funny. "I kind of had another reason for coming here too." I looked once again into his eyes seeing a small glimmer.
"Dean." I said making him look over sending him a look. He stood up squeezing my hand, and then walked out of the room. AJ moved forwards so he was sat closer to me, and took my hand in his.
"I was wondering if maybe you wanted to head out sometime, catch a movie, a bite to eat." I couldn't but smile. The whole evening had been completely overwhelming, but right now just topped it all off. As soon as my eyes fell on AJ I knew he was something special, his giant heart and caring nature.
"Yeah, that sounds amazing." He smiled back at me, standing up and kissing my cheek, careful not to push it considering we hadn't even been on a first date yet.
"Alright Ellie, you are good to go." The doctor walked back in, as the two guys helped me back up to my feet, a few bruises visible. AJ and I left the room walking along the corridor.
"Don't worry about your brother either, I can work on him." I nodded feeling his arm wrap around me again. "Everyone loves me eventually," he joked making me snigger.
"I wouldn't be so sure," I teased, winking up at him. He blushed slightly, taking a hold of my hand and leading me down into the catering hall.
