"You know, I never thought I'd really be able to take you out." I looked across at Sean, his eyes focusing on the road instead of me.

"How so?" I asked, watching his glance briefly turn towards me.

"I didn't think Ted liked me, and I know how protective he is of you I didn't want to break your bond." I giggled nervously, scratching the back of my head to try and work out what to say.

"We're both pretty cool, close, very close." He nodded, turning left at the next junction, pulling up at the local drive in. "Wow," I whispered, looking out in awe.

"Have you never been somewhere like this before?" I shook my head, watching him park the car in a small space at the back of the centre.

"This is so cool." He turned the engine off, hopping out of his truck, instructing me to do the same.

"I thought it was a bit nicer than just a theatre." I nodded, I couldn't agree more.

"This is certainly a whole lot better than a trip to the cinema." He smiled, offering his hand out for me, helping me up so I could sit in the trailer.

"I'm sure you've done some pretty cool stuff in your time though Cassie." I sighed, shrugging my shoulders.

"Aside from work, and the travel, not really, I mean there was that one time...I...well...I went to this convention thing, I dressed up, it was pretty cool, full of cool people." He nodded, his eyes judging me instantly.

"That sounds good. I've done some pretty sick stuff myself, skydiving, zip wires, mountain climbing, you'd love it." I nodded, muttering under my breath a response.

"What time does the movie start?" I asked quickly changing the subject from my very boring life.

"We've got fifteen minutes." I nodded, looking up at the huge black screen, a few more cars pulling in. "I've got a few snacks as well in case we get hungry."

"Thanks." He moved down reaching into the boot of the car, grabbing a few packets of crisps and two bottles of beer. "I'm alright for alcohol," I told him.

"Go on Cassie, just have a little fun for once." He moved the bottle closer towards me, the smell filling my nostrils.

"Fine." He cheered, taking the two bottle lids off. "Are we allowed these here?"

"Who cares, be wild, let go, there's always the fun of being caught." He was right, maybe it was time to let a little more enjoyment into my life.

"You know, to begin with, I wasn't too keen on working with your uncle, nor be a part of the corporation, but I'm so glad I did now." I turned to look at him as he sat just behind me.

"Why?" He smiled, taking a quick sip of beer.

"I wouldn't have met you of course." A small blush crept onto my cheeks, I could feel it, there was no point even trying to hide it.

I didn't really understand how the two of us worked at all, we were complete opposites, Sean was an excitable guy, fun loving and adventurous, whilst I was just the quiet girl in the background with the very normal lifestyle.

My trapped inner thoughts were silenced by the opening beats of the movie beginning, squeals filling the car park. "Oh my gosh, it's starting," I whispered across at Sean.

"Be quiet then, we don't want to miss any of it."

The tape began to roll, just, an old black and white motion picture, the true classics that we usually watched in these scenes at the movies.

I couldn't take my eyes off of it, practically blocking Sean out. Every now and then I'd feel his eyes burning me down to make sure I was alright, smiling contently when he saw my own.

As the film went on the weather dropped, the air becoming a lot sharper and colder. I could feel the goosebumps growing on my pale skin, a slight shoved running down my spine.

"You alright Cassie?" I looked at Sean, nodding my head, trying to smile through gritted teeth. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, just a bit chilly." He nodded, moving back for a second, then reappearing with a black jumper in his hands.

"Here." He grabbed the sleeves, rolling them up so I could easily slide my arms in, pulling the thicker material down to cover my body.

"Thanks," I muttered, still trying not to break my eyes from the screen.

I thought the two of us were alright, until I felt Sean place his arm around my shoulders, his hand rubbing up and down my arm, still trying to warm me up.

Despite wanting to tell myself that I should push him off, I couldn't help but rest my head on his shoulder as the film came to an almighty climax.

All around us were loved up couples, snuggling together, in awe of what was happening to us all. The magic a screen and a car could provide was indescribable.

The night drew in as the credits rolled down the screen, everyone heading back inside their cars to head home. "That truly was the best time."

"I'm glad to hear it." Sean turned the car on, pulling back out onto the main road. "I best get you home before I have Ted on my back."

"Oh he won't mind, he loves you, loves working with you, as long as you're looking after me." He smiled, reaching across and placing his spare hand over mine.

"Of course I'm looking after you, not every girl gets taken to a drive in let me tell you." I giggled as we concluded the short drive back to my house, just a few roads away from the car park.

"Well, thank you once again for such a lovely evening." Sean smiled, unbuckling his seatbelt just as I did my own, leaning in and planting a very brief kiss on my lips.

"Goodnight Cassie," he whispered as I opened the door.

"Goodnight Sean," I replied, shutting the door and walking to the front door.

Just one movie, and one night, suddenly seemed like it was the best time in the world, something so simple and plain, just like me, turned out to be one of the best times of my life.
