"I've got a bit of fun for you today," I smiled over at Finn, looking at the corners of his mouth turn up.
"I hope it's not a surprise," he teased, knowing how much I knew he hated them. He walked over and placed his hands on my hips, pecking my forehead lightly.
"No, well maybe." He rolled his eyes, letting out a big sigh. "Don't be like that. Just listen, I think you'll like it." He nodded, looking right down into my brown eyes, listening intently to whatever it was I had to say.
"I'm a little excited," he whispered making me giggle.
"You're going to be going on your own little treasure hunt. Around the arena are little clues from all our friends which you'll bring together to me for the final crescendo." He shook his head, giggling.
"Alright, what's the first clue." I walked out of his arms, walking over to my bag, carefully picking out the exact piece of paper that I wanted.
"Here." I walked over placing it in his open hand, watching him unravel it.
"In this place you shall find, our ginger one of a kind. And by his side, will be one of the foods you despise." I watched his brain work, trying to figure out Sami's location. "He's in the catering hall!" I giggled, letting him know he was right, wanting to start him off easy. "Bye Cecile!" I waved, spinning on my heels and heading over to my bag.
I had no clue what he was doing, or where he'd end up, but I knew I'd given myself the perfect amount of time to sort everything out.
"You're always one for personal hygiene, not to mention your hatred for cubicles. Sat in one you will find, your Irish buddy Beck. Thirty cubicles lie in this building, but where she will be you'll have to find out for yourself."
I laid out the boxes on the floor for him to put all the items he'd find in. Each one was joined by two lollipop sticks representing addition signs, followed by an equals at the end of the chain.
"Four white walls are your worst nightmare, just ask our dear chum Seth. Of course there is no hospital here, but your next clue is in the closest thing next."
I reached down and untied the banner I'd bought especially, tying it to the two lights in the room, the words 'surprise,' hanging in the middle.
"You're doing well so far, but your next clue is the worst next. Just like Kevin, you're a big child at heart, near the play centre just round the corner."
I had to extend the period of time he was gone somehow, what else could a girl do? I knew he'd probably end up sitting on the see saw or the swings for awhile before carrying on anyway.
"I don't remember telling you to sit on a swing - but I'll let you off this once. You're getting warmer slowly, so why don't you speed things up. In the gym you'll find, a leggy blonde, doing what you should be doing!"
There were only a couple of clues left, and I'd timed things perfectly. I had one last job to do, one final box. I reached into my bag pulling out the long, rectangular box, placing it in the bigger box at the end of the chain. I was desperate to take the lid off, but I knew I'd just start crying, ruining the surprise.
"You've got one final friend, not many hey! The Sandy to your Danny, yeah I don't forget these things. Just head down the corridor in the place you call home, let the demon come alive, and see your second favourite girl."
I'd set Bayley down in the ring with his final item to collect, a cute little dummy, which would hopefully make the penny drop. I sat down on the chair, waiting for him to arrive.
"Congratulations, you passed! Now be the Romeo to your Juliet and head back to where all this fun began. Cecile is waiting, for your final hurrah, prepare yourself Finn, you're in for a surprise."
Seconds later he ran into the room, throwing everything down on the floor. "You've got some explaining to do missy, what's going on?" He looked up at the banner, raising his eyebrows on confusion.
"What things have you got?" I asked, stifling a laugh.
"There's a dummy, a rattle, a nappy, some mushed up food, presumably sprouts from the smell, a photo frame, a hospital band, and a fluffy teddy." I nodded, watching the confusion grow on his face.
"Why don't you put them all in the boxes and then stand back." He did as I said, putting everything in a box, taking a few steps back.
"So these all add up to something." His eyes fell along the line, finally reaching the equals box. He didn't know what to think, walking over and picking the box up. I covered my mouth with my hands, watching his eyes widen as the lid came off. "Are you serious?"
"Of course I am." He walked over, placing his hands on his hips, lifting me up in the air, placing his lips on my little, blossoming bump.
"I can't believe we're having a baby," he whispered, ever so carefully placing down on my feet. "I love you so much darling," he whispered, planting a little kiss on my cheek.
"I love you too, I'm so excited for the future now." I pulled away, taking the test in my own hand, twirling it around in my hand.
The two of us went to sit down, when a knock could be heard on the other side of the door. "Come in!" Finn shouted, watching the handle go down, and six excitable faces run into the room.
"Congratulations!"
"Baby Balor!"
I felt numerous pairs of arms wrap around us both, squeezing us tightly. I couldn't help but chuckle with them all, despite their incredibly poor timing, feeling cold hands land on my bump, and a kiss on the top of my head once again from Finn.
