I took one final deep breath, opening up the door, stepping in and scanning the room.

Everyone was all sat in their usual friendship groups, the connections that had endured years together, stories that had been shared, spanning years.

I grabbed a quick bottle of water for something to do, noticing in the back corner a few of the girls all sat around a table.

Whilst on the inside I just wanted to leave the room, I knew at some point I had to bring myself to talk to them all, I was going to be working with them after all.

At the right end of the table I could see a spare chair, screaming out for me to sit on it.

I walked over, standing behind Sasha, waiting for one of them to look up and initiate conversation, but they all just seemed to ignore me.

"Is that seat taken?" I eventually asked, pointing to it to make my statement.

They all shook their heads, and a couple rolled their eyes, as I walked over and sat down.

I kept the smile on my face trying to appear friendly to them all.

"So, Emily, tell us about yourself?" A small blonde at the other end of the table, kickstarting the conversation.

"Well, I'm pretty well known in Japan, I've been wrestling over there for years and held numerous belts, and I guess now I want to come here and make sure everyone in America knows my name too." I was pretty sure none of them were listening to me, tearing me apart a little, effort needed to be made two ways.

"Great," I heard Alicia groan, leaning back in her chair.

I'd never felt so uncomfortable in my life, I never imagined that things would turn out this way here compared to how it was in Japan.

"Did you spend any time in NXT?" Bayley asked, looking over at me.

"No, I just got told I was coming straight to Raw." I knew straight away that was a bad move, knowing full well how strongly they all felt about developmental.

"Well aren't you just perfect," I heard Alicia comment again, turning fully around so her back was faced towards me.

"I need to go," I said, pulling my chair back out quickly, grabbing my phone and water and walking out of the room.

I didn't know where to go, or who to talk to, standing in the corridor for a short while.

The girls seemed so ignorant and rude, not how I imagined at all.

As much as I didn't want to, eventually I knew that I was going to have to head down to the locker room and sort myself out. I needed to prepare for my introduction segment, something the girls most definitely wouldn't be sticking around for.

I didn't know whether to knock or not, but it was a welcomed area for me too, so opened the door slowly.

All eyes fell onto me, watching me carefully as I walked over to the small corner at the back of the locker which had been left for me and my belongings.

None of them spoke, unsurprisingly, all turning to look away as soon as my eyes fell on them.

"Girls, I here they've got some free time down at the ring, shall we go?" I'd been in there a matter of seconds, hardly being subtle.

"Yes."

"Lets go."

"Get me out of here."

One by one they all stood up leaving me silenced in the corner. It wasn't hard, I could tell what they were getting at, and made the message quite clear that I wasn't welcomed.

I watched them all carefully, noticing that same blonde woman from earlier stay seated.

"Alexa, are you not coming?" She shook her head, watching the door shut behind the girls.

"You can go," I told her, making her look over at me. She smiled, shaking her head.

"No, it's fine, I didn't really want to go anyway." I nodded as she walked over and sat down beside me.

"Can I ask you something?" She continued to look up at me, not saying a word, waiting for me to continue. "Why do none of the girls like me?"

"It's just what happens I guess. We all experience being the newbie, they'll come round eventually." I wasn't content, I'd never experienced such a vicious environment before.

"There's got to be something more to it." She sighed, kicking her feet out a little.

"If I'm being completely honest, a few of the girls find you a bit arrogant, they've seen you around in Japan, and then with what happened earlier at the table, they're not sure yet."

I didn't want to take it personally, but how could I not?

"I didn't realise I was coming across that way."

"You're not, you seem lovely Emily, I promise, they'll come up with any old excuse to push the new girl away." I nodded, still not feeling much better.

"So it's a waiting game?" She nodded.

"Kind of, they just want to make sure you're a genuine person, which I'm sure you are. Look, you know that whilst you're here you've got a friend in me, and as for the rest of them, they'll come round." Knowing that I had at least one person to turn to meant a lot right now.

"Thank you, I guess I've just got to prove myself to them all." She smiled sweetly over at me.

"You're a kind girl Emily, you don't need to worry about them all. If you're that concerned, I can put in a good word, hopefully help them see sense."

"I'd appreciate that, thank you Alexa." She stood back up, heading over to her stuff.

"No problem, although as a repayment, you can always teach me a few of those Japanese moves, they look incredible." I reached forwards and shook her hand, signing off our little deal, sitting back and finally feeling a little bit more comfortable to be there.
