mario's pov

  "okay ladies, this ain't no beauty pageant, so choose a partner quickly and start to work on the essay." mr. mac said.

i look over to loren who was looking at joey-but with some other girl. supposably his new girlfriend. loren's eyes were trying to hold in the tears.

she walked by my desk and said she had to go to the bathroom. she asked the teacher and left.

i felt so bad for loren, just seeing your ex being with a new girl right after you broke up with the guy.

joey's desk was behind mine. the girl was sitting on his lap and they were too happy. i wanted to do something, something that a boyfriend would do-but i'm not her boyfriend, just a friend.

she came back after seven minutes. her eyes were a little red from crying.

  "hey." i said.

she just nodded.

i grabbed out a piece of paper and i started writing.

  "okay class, i figure your all finished by now. if your not, then you can finish it for homework." the teacher states. and then the bell rings.

after rushes out of classroom but loren. i look over to her and she slowly shoves her textbooks into her backpack. she looked miserable. i didn't know what to do, should i wait or should i leave?

  "so for the homework, i can finish it." i say to her. i sounded like a complete idiot that just wanted to be near her.

  "it's fine mario, i can do it." loren says sniffling.

  "loren, trust me, i already finished all of my homework earlier, this is the least i can do." i say putting my right hand over my chest.

she chuckled over how dorky i looked.

  "fine mario selman." she says putting on her backpack straps.

  "see you tomorrow." i say walking out the door.

  "wait up you loser!" she says laughing.

  "you walking home too?" i ask.

she nods.

arii's pov

  "ariel, i just don't know what to do anymore, he's head over heals for loren." i say while petting their family's new puppy.

(okay the martin's new little puppy is the cutest thing ever. but rest in peace murphy😔)

  "arii, i honestly have nothing to say. i mean you and loren are my friends. i can't control blake's feelings." ariel says with a sad face on.

  "it's not your fault ariel." i say. "i shouldn't be putting all of this pressure on you."

  "is there any other guy?" ariel asks changing the subject.

  "nope, just him."
