loren's pov

a couple weeks later

i figured it was time to ask blake about how he feels about me. it's been a little bit since we went to the diner and we haven't talked. boys aren't the only ones who can make the first moves.

at blake's locker/end of school day

"hey blake." i say standing behind him at his locker while he reaches for his backpack.

he turns around and smiles when he sees my face.

"hey loren." he says. "what's up?"

"well i'm at school, and i wanted to ask you something." i say while fidgeting with the strings that hang on the bottom of the backpack straps.

"well, how about this, i'll get my backpack and i'll walk you to your house." he says.

i knew that blake walked home everyday but i didn't know he knew that i walked.

"oh, okay, sure." i say, waiting for blake to finish shoving his books into his bag.

after a couple of seconds, he locks his locker and puts his backpack on.

  "ready?" he asks.

  "yep." i say.

-

"so what did you wanna ask me?" blake asks as we cross the road.

"well before i ask you the question, do you even know where we're walking to?" i ask chuckling.

"well, i suppose we're walking to your house, so i'll follow you." he says smiling.

"okay well what i wanted to ask you is-what do you think of me of?" i ask.

"well what do you mean by that?" blake asks, as his smile slowly starts to slowly disappear.

"i mean so you think of me as a friend-or a crush, or just-anything?" i ask. "i mean you know i just broke up with joe-."

"loren, i gotta go for this really important family dinner, but i'll tell you this, once your ready to date again, and your after joey, i think i'll answer that question." he says smiling.

he does a little wave and runs off in a different direction.

i wanted to get over joey,

but i couldn't.
