Life's Second Chance

Transformation!

Panic stricken, Commander Carbine slowly backed towards the door, "What are you talking about?"

"Ask Big Brother," cursed May as her eyes began to fade into a more sinister golden hue as she crunched a round inflated sachet in her mouth. Her brows twisted at the bitter metallic taste that stung her tongue.

Throttle narrowed his eyes as he connected the dots. Ray had taken one of those things too just before she left, and within moments May's body dropped to the floor, as her eyes rolled back into her head. Foam started decorating the corners of her mouth, as he rushed towards the girl. "MAY!" He began shaking the girl's shoulders as she lay cradled in his arms. "MAY What-what did you do!?" Piercing optics dropped to the wrapper that she held in her limp hand and looked at it. It had some inscriptions that he couldn't recognize. His eyes shot to Carbine with a panic stricken stare. "What did she just take!?"

Carbine gawked. Ray hadn't mentioned something like this happening. "I-I don't know!" she stammered. 

May's body began convulsing violently as she began to scream.

 "What's happening!" Throttle cried out in sheer panic.

"It hurts..it huuuuuuuuurrrrrrrts!" came the pain stricken cry of May. Her fingers kept flexing until her knuckles were white and pink with all her thrashing about.

The girl's nails soon found their way to her face and as she ripped at the skin, Throttle grabbed her hands-only to find that her grip was a lot stronger than he'd first anticipated. "May stop!"

Gasping for air, the child shoved the male sending him flying across the room as she rolled onto her stomach and curled into a ball, vomiting a strange reddish green liquid. The sound of clicking and popping adding an eerie chorus to the beating security alarm that had engulfed the whole underground base. 

May's frame grew to a height of six feet, a pair of mouse ears appeared replacing her small human auditory frames. As a tail shot out from the end of her spine, silky short golden fur seemed to appear in a graceful wave from head to toe. Now, standing to her full height, May practically took on the image of a Martian fae, golden-tan fur, soft, kind hazel-brown eyes, and reddish hazel brown back-length wavy hair with two martian antennae crowning her head. "Woa..." she gawked as she looked at her hands.

 The only distinction of her human heritage, was that she had a smaller, leaner, fragile looking frame. Her extremely short fur gave her an almost golden-California-tan skin like appearance with a more than human jaw line. Tail whip lashing behind her, flipped the table and punched a hole through the bullet proof window pane before looking at both Throttle and Carbine who stood dumbstruck.

"M-May?" choked out Throttle as he placed himself protectively in front of Carbine. And as the younger female walked up to him, he looked down upon the she-mouse who almost rivaled his height.

Heart racing as her muscles flexed with a final pop, May gritted her teeth, "Big Brother wants, only one thing," her eyes glaring daggers into Carbine's eyes. "He has no girl..just puppets and pets.." The aggressive mutant wanted to make a point in the most direct way possible. She had hoped her transformation was enough to prove that Big Brother was unreliable. 

Throttle couldn't help but feel intimidated by this new golden furred she-mouse, if anything she surely took after Ray's dark and dangerous persona. " Remember..a mirror reflection is the key to save Ray.." 

With that the mutated femme leaped through the broken glass pane.

Carbine struck an amused pose, "I guess I know where she got that spunky attitude from." She released a short warm laugh. "Heh, she takes after you alright."

Throttle turned to face Carbine with concern, his hands holding her shoulders firmly. "Carbine I-"

Rolling her eyes the officer peeled his hands off slowly and gently. "Heh, I know." Seeing his slight pause added, "What are you doin' here? Just go! Gitoutta here already!"
