Her Plan

Kay took a deep breath and felt suffocated. As much as he wanted to withhold the information they had, he knew that if they were to have any chance at stopping Kaito, they would have to work together.

"You're all probably wondering why she couldn't just simply tell you what's going on. Truth is she couldn't. You have to realize that if they were able to replicate her memories and give them to May along with some of her other skills and knowledge, they had the ability to strip information from your minds as well. It was a necessary precaution." He reasoned.

Throttle's mind went reeling into the next galaxy, everything started to make a weird kind of sense. These guys were a totally different ball game compared to what his bros and himself were accustomed to. All this drama made Limburger look like a saint. This was literally Big Time crime going down. And if Ray scrambled the information on purpose knowing that their minds could be invaded. Well..

"She's gonna get herself killed.." Throttle remarked coldly-more to himself than to anyone else. His tone was now audible in the pin-drop silent room.

Kay added in an eerie stern tone. "The fact is the Pacer had been a continuous issue. We have been trying to deactivate it for the past three to four years now."

"So what is the plan exactly?" Modo broke in. He was quite stuck in his own world, oblivious to the little monologue that had just transpired.

Turning to her friend, Charlie explained, "Well it was to get to Big Brother to remove the Pacer on our terms..but.." her voice broke off in a quiet trail of unspoken thoughts.

"But..?" Throttle prodded.

"But the plan changed.." Charlie sighed deeply.

Meeting the quizzical and anxious faces of her friends, Charlie didn't know how well they'd react to the next chapter in her explanation and paused. Looking over her shoulder for reassurance, received Kay's nod of approval before turning to continue.
"You see, as you all already might have known, May was created as a replacement host for the Pacer-but since Ray had switched sides...There was no need for her to exist, and our hopes for using May to spy for us ended with it. She was set for termination soon after Zed was neurolized."

Modo piped up, "What do you mean termination?" His cybernetic eye glowed a fierce red color.

Vinnie cut in, neuro-wat-a-sized?"

Charlie choked as she turned to Vincent, "Neurolized- you know- have his mind wiped clean-erase his memories? Like what they did to Ray.." Frowning, answered Modo's question, "They decided to kill May-" before anyone else could voice an opinion, question, or protest she cut herself off and explained. Charlie's voice softened, "Ray took care of it though, and convinced Kai to set May free.

You see, she was trying to write not just May, but all of us out of the picture on purpose because she didn't want any of us involved anymore. She didn't want to see us get hurt."

Charlie sighed. "We also became a big liability, she couldn't risk them using us against her.. So..."

Throttle cut in, "So, basically she turned against us to protect us. That just makes perfect sense." His voice rang out with sarcasm.

Modo jumped in, "How do you know about all of this?"

Kay filled the Martian in. "I heard her voice over the speakers after Kaito neurolized Zed, one of our fellow agents. She struck a deal with Kaito. He would spare our lives and in return she would work for him. She would also tell him what the problem with his blueprints were."

Taking a deep breath, Charlie continued grimly, "You see, before her Mission on Mars, the MIB were working on a project to find unlimited renewable energy that was both safe and reliable. Ray, Kaito, and a handful of other scientists were heading the project. Kai actually discovered that the energy they managed to store could be used as a weapon and started researching it on the side. Ray only got involved when they reached building stage, and that's when she saw the blue prints. Long story short, the energy project got disbanded and the scientists got neurolozed. The only two who retained the information was Kai and Ray since they were both Agents."
