Fear Awaits Within Your Mind
Fear lays dormant, behind locked doors, in your subconscious mind
There it waits, until it's late, and when you are all alone
Floors creak, and whispers follow, feed thoughts of paranoia
As you lay numb, you succumb, to fear as it takes control
Your heart pulse quickens, stomach sickens, sweat glands overload
Fear plays tricks, as you are transfix, with shadows on your wall
You attempt to scream, as it's no dream, your voice can't be heard
You're now consumed, from head to foot, with fear and all its pals
You feel doomed, shadows loom, your heart is about to explode
You grab your flashlight, to your right, but it fails to turn on
You yank up on your covers, in attempt, to recover
But your night-light flickers, and it sends shivers, through your spine
So how would you, undue this brew, of terror and mistrust
Count to ten, now back again, to find keys for unlocked doors
Now one by one, locate and lock, until they are all closed
You now are free, from fears stiff hold, until these doors, release once more!
