The Girl Inside Our Mirror

Late one night, I could not sleep, I had to grab some water.
Out my room, down through the hall, I thought I heard my daughter.
With lights down low and half asleep, I passed our hallway mirror.
And there she was, dressed in white, the girl inside our mirror.

With eyes ice blue, her stare cut through, she trapped me with her gaze.
My jaw had dropped, my heart had stopped, my eyes fixed on her face.
She gestured me, come tread softly, step inside the mirror.
With one deep breath, in I stepped, and joined her in our mirror.

As I passed through, this voice I knew, it's my precious daughter.
On this night, we thought she died, perished in tragic fire.
A year ago, we lost our home, all but for this mirror.
With tears of joy, she ran to me, within my arms once more.

With tears of joy, I pulled her close, and whispered in her ear,
"My sweet, sweet dear, how did you get here within this mirror?"
She raised her head and said, "My Guardian Angel, father!"
And with that said, from overhead, an Angel did appear.

And with his mighty wings, he brought us in, within moments we were transported back home.
And once again, reunited Amen, thanks to God and our antique family heirloom!
