A Stroll Among Shadows
On a moonlit night taking a stroll through the park.
Not a soul in sight, but for dark shadows who lurk.
They whisper to go left, but this lit path does not.
Suddenly, this safe path ends and this nightmare starts.
Shadows begin to howl as the walk pace picks up.
Nerves and chills inside as this body goes in shock.
Falling hard onto the ground and scraping some skin,
must rush to get up before the shadows close in.
The air turning colder making this body weak.
Sounds of thunder in the distance ringing defeat.
As the clouds slowly roll in, the moonlight grows dim.
The shadows start to laugh believing they will win.
As darkness slowly creeps in on surrounding space,
a surprising grin forms on this once worried face.
For what secret is known that the shadows do not?
Where there is midnight thunder, white lightning soon sparks.
As cold hand's grip a shoulder, life-force slips away.
Gaze towards heaven, "Protect me Father", I pray.
Clouds begin to disperse as a prayer is granted,
a bolt of white lightning from the heavens has landed.
Bright light strikes like daggers and all the shadows fall.
Protecting us all with the power of God's love.
On the darkest of nights when evil shadows stalk,
just know, you're never alone when out for a walk.
