Young Jed and Bad Bill, Supernatural Demon Killers

This dark story is about Young Jed and Bad Bill;
Two normal dudes who enjoyed reading a good tale.
Young Jed loves his adventures that have a big thrill.
Bad Bill reads folklore while enjoying cold ale.

They drove to the city to browse an old book shop,
Owned by an old widow woman who loved to talk.
She knew the boys well and their book interests at heart.
She would let them know of any knew books she got.

Bored with most of their books which were making them yawn.
The boys hopped in Jed’s truck with their old books to pawn.
They were concerned with the weather, should they go on.
But the draw for new books was too strong to prolong.

When they reached the book shop old Mrs. Smith was shocked,
Because she heard that the highway had now been blocked.
She told them they could stay the night in the shop’s loft.
The boys were grateful and when she left they locked up.

They wandered the shop searching for new books to read.
Bill grew hungry for ale or he could not proceed.
Young Jed slipped him ten bucks, “We need ale!” He agreed.
Bill left as Jed searched through new books that were buried.

When Bill returned, after a while, they were feeling good.
They continued with their search in the shop, book after book.
Until they stumbled upon one with covers made of wood,
With a locked latch that Bill tried to unlock, but he could not.

Bad Bill fiddled for hours trying to unlock the latch.
“Why bother with it? Just grab a new book instead.” Jed asked.
Bad Bill replied, “This book is ancient. It was built to last.”
Bill knew it was special, inside were secrets from the past.

Frustrated, Bill threw the wooden book to the ground!
Causing a reaction making his ale spin round,
Spilling off the table over the book it found.
As they glared at the book, it made a clicking sound!

Bad Bill jumped up! “Thank God for ale!” He yelled out loud!
He picked up the book and tossed it on the table.
“Well let’s see what this ancient book is all about!”
Bill opens the wooden covers and looks inside.
Jed looks over Bill’s shoulder, Bill turns the first page.
“Hey look, it’s written in English, medieval age.”
They began to skim through with much interest engaged.
Pictures and words created by someone deranged.

They did not understand what they were seeing here.
The purpose of this ancient book was not so clear.
The drawn pictures displayed creatures that inflict fear.
One page explained how to make the creatures appear.

Not thinking, Bad Bill began to read from the page:

"To obtain True Sight ~ this poem you must recite ~
On the day the moon is full and at true midnight"

"Faith must be the stronger ~ courage must be the tougher ~
Vision becomes the clearer ~ True Sight you now acquire"

With Bill's final word heard, a blinding light occurred;
Striking the boys in their eyes sending them backwards!
"What the hell was that!" Jed said with his sight still blurred.
Bill stands and rubs his eyes and said, "I feel awkward."

Jed said, "Let's see that book, I bet it was a spell!"
He flips through the pages. "I can read this quite well!"
He advises. "This book tells how to send them to hell."
"Send who back to hell?" Bill asks. "The creatures from hell!"

They stay up the rest of the night learning to fight.
To become Demon Killers. How to use true sight,
What tools are required, and the power of light.
"Now that you cursed us, were going to do this right!"

At that moment Mrs. Smith entered the book shop.
"The highway is open. Did you find any books?"
"We did find a couple, and we better depart.
Our families are worried. You have a kind heart."

Jed and Bill waved farewell taking the book of hell.
Not understanding what is about to unfold...
