Death Intrigues Me

The church bell rings someone's death to proclaim
In obituaries I plan again
Intrigued? You soon will be when I explain

Dress to the nines, black bow-tie is in style
With paper and pen, I drive for awhile
To a church funeral up half a mile

I choose a seat for what others don't know
I wait patiently for the two to show
This man's soul to be claimed by friend or foe

Soon they arrive and they begin their clash
One of darkness, one of light,  as they dash
I wear my sunglasses, I watch them thrash

A victor emerge, the other disperse
I clap my hands, for this poor soul is cursed
Clutched by darkness, perhaps it was coerce

Back to my car, SMITH crossed off, and I leave
To the next show with little time to grieve
I pray light wins, balance must be achieve!
