Cemetery Rendezvous
The town cemetery is where I go to talk
with the unlucky souls who were forced to depart
I would bring with me a pen and paper to write
They may have a remarkable tale to recite
The best time to visit is on a dark clear night
The entire yard would be lit by bright moonlight
It's best to choose a bench in a quiet locale
Now just sit and wait for a ghostly guy or gal
One lonely night I met with a young sobbing mum
She had a sad story; she had left a young son
I promised her to help with his education
To open a bank account for his tuition
I met a nice young man who was full of regret
for the wife and three children who'd felt his neglect
He told me six numbers and to play the lotto
To deliver the winnings and to say hello
I met a sweet old lady who was most concerned
She had fifteen cats at home, each one her love yearned
I promised to find a loving home for each one
Which would show them love as though a daughter or son
I meet up with the ones not quite ready to leave
I tell them I will help out so they would succeed
This deed that I do makes me feel good deep inside
when I watch them ascending and waving good-bye
