I froze and did what my instincts do what they told me too.

I rose from my chair and sprinted after chris, even if I was slower due to being so weak and skinny.

I ran out to the elevator and frantically hit the down button but it made me frustrated due to being so slow and I heavily sighed because I didn't have the time for this.

I huffed and ran to the emergency stairs door and I slammed the door open with my shoulder which caused me to cry out in pain for a moment but I shook off the pain and ran down the fifteen flights of stairs.

I held the railing down every flight of stairs and I had to stop a couple of times due to my breathing acting strange.

Once I reached the first flight of stairs I stopped dead cold and I placed my hands on my knees and I looked at the floor heavily breathing as sweat fogged my glasses.

My shoes had dirt on them and I had drops of sweat falling to the floor as I tried to calm my breathing down but I began wheezing and coughing.

I needed to help Chris but my body would rather give up and be a complete fuck up and sit and pout on the cold floor.

"No" I thought

"Get your shit together Reese lets go" I mumbled under my breath.

I limped to the door next to the emergency stairs and I pushed it open and it was heavy but I gave another shove with my shoulder and it opened.

I cried in more pain and I removed my glasses to get rid of the fogginess.

I placed my glasses back onto my nose as I adjusted to the bright scenery outside.

The old door opened with a squeaking sound and I jumped out of the building before the door immediately slammed shut behind me.

I quickly and quietly walked along side of the hospital listening into the mild spring day.

Birds chirped in nearby trees and I heard a muffled crying and I followed it and I
as I walked faster the louder and closer it got.

I got to the back of the hospital and chris was curled into a ball with his head in his hands as he cried.

"Chris are you okay?" I asked

He looked up at me and his blue eyes were full of tears and the pain was unbearable inside of him.

His skinny frame was shaking on the ground, crying away the pain and I just stood there like a complete idiot not knowing what to do.

I eventually decided to sit next to Chris and I wrapped my arms around him and I pulled him into weak hug.

"It's all my fault, Phil is going to die and it's going to be my fault I'm sorry" he sobbed.

"Chris"

"Yeah?"

"It's not your fault don't beat yourself up about it, nothing is your fault okay I promise" I whispered with a small smile.

"Thank you Reese" he responded with a quiet whisper and he gave a small smile as tears still rolled down his cheeks.

Chris looked up to the blue sky with his eyes reflected from the sky, tears continuing to fall as he still cried.

"Maybe I can't do this anymore, I'm not worth much and it's not like anyone truly cares anyways" he sighed while shrugging his shoulders.

I punched his arm as hard as I could which wasn't even hard, regretting what I just did I locked my eyes with his.

"You're worth the world, and telling you this is odd but you mean so much to me and you've helped me get through so many things and you've save me" I sighed.

Chris wasn't silent and he didn't say anything but he wrapped his arms around me and cried.

"Thank you"

Looking down as Chris removed his arms his sleeve was up a tad and there was a small scar there.

"Chris have or do you cut?" I asked.

"Yes, very much indeed" he spoke without even looking at me.
