I'm in the kitchen with Jenna, as I'm holding a box. "Scum ball. Scum bucket." She says, and I look at her. "Who are you talking to?" I ask, and she looks at me. "Him. On the TV." She says. "The News guy?" I ask. "Also known as Logan "Scum" Fell." She says, and looks at the screen, and back to me. "Did your Mom ever tell you why I moves away from Mystic Falls?" She asks, and I laugh. "Oh, no way. You and him?" I ask, and look at him. "He's kinda cute for you. Although Stefan's better." I say. "Logan is not cute." She says, as I walk over to my chair and sit down. "There's nothing cute about him." She says, and turns off the TV, and I smile at her, and set the box down and open it, and pull out a pocket watch, and begin cleaning it. "What are you doing with that?" She asks. "I went yesterday and got it from the Safe Deposit Box. Mom had told Mrs. Lockwood she would loan it to the Founder's Council for their Heritage Display." I say, and look at her, and back to the watch. "Is that Grandma Beth's Wedding ring?" She asks, and I look at her, and she's holding the ring. "Originally it was Great Great Grandma Mary's Wedding ring." I say, and see Jeremy reach for the watch, and pick it up. "How much do you think this stuff is worth? You know, like on Ebay?" He asks, and I lean forward and grab it. "You're not gonna find out." I say, and sit down, and go back to cleaning. "That stuff is Mom and Dad's. You can't just give it away." He says, and I look up, and see him open the fridge. "I'm not giving it away. It's called a Loan, Jeremy." I say, and the doorbell rings, and I look at the door, and set the watch down, and get up, and walk over to it, and open it, and see Stefan smiling. "Hey." He says, and I laugh, and grab his right hand with my left, and pull him in, and he shuts the door, and I look back at the kitchen, and face him, and wrap my arms around his neck, and he puts his around my waist, and we kiss. "Hi." I say, and we both smile at each other. We're on my bed, making out, and I lay on the end of my bed, without breaking the kiss, and he's on top of me, and kisses my neck, and I run his shoulder, and he sits up on the edge of the bed, and I give a small laugh, and sit up. "Are you okay?" I ask, smiling. "I'm good. Sorry." He says. "Maybe we should press pause." I say, and he faces me, smiling. "Yeah, you're probably right. That was getting a bit.." He says. "Yeah." I say, smiling. "Yeah." He says, and smiles back, and turns around, and stands up, and walks over to my window, and sits down, as I sit on the edge of my bed. "How do you look in a suit?" I ask. "I can pull one off." He says. "How about tomorrow night? Will you be my date to the Founder's Party?" I ask, smiling. "They still do that?" He asks. "Have you been before?" I ask. "No, the Salvatores don't get invited anymore." He says, looking down, and back to me. "Well, this year, there's this Heritage Project that meant a lot to my Mom. She was really involved in the Founder's Council, and it was her favorite party. I know it sounds really boring, but." I say, and he interrupts me. "I would be honored to accompany you, Mr. Gilbert." He says, smiling. "The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Salvatore." I say, smiling and laugh. It's the next day, as the doorbell rings, and I walk towards it. "I'm here for my Mom. I was supposed to pick up a box of stuff." I hear Tyler say, and I approach him, and notice Jeremy. "Right here. Please be careful." I say, handing it to him, gently. "Yeah, be careful with it, Dick." Jeremy says. "Hey! Not now, ok, guys? Please?" I ask, and look at Jeremy, and then to Tyler. "I'm fine. He's just being a Punk." He says. "I got your Punk." Jeremy says. "Look, Tyler, maybe you should go. Tell your Mom that I'll see her tonight. Oh, and mess with Stefan or Jeremy again, and I will punch you in the nose." I say, crossing my arms. "Mhm. Sure." He says, and I glare at him, and he walks off, and so do I. I'm in the kitchen with Mark, and we're talking about Acessories and Cologne. "Black nose piercing or Golden nose piercing?" He asks. "Tough call. I already have gold. So, maybe black?" I ask, washing my hands, and dry them on my pants, and walk over to him. "Look at you, getting all fancy for your date. You seem happy ish." He says. "I am.. ish." I say, and sit down. "Tonight's going to be a good night. But don't let that stop you from telling me whatever it is you wanted to tell me as soon as you walked in the door." I say. "What if I tell you in the morning? I don't want to ruin the night." He says, and I sigh. "Mark, out with it. Spill." I say. "Ok, but it has to go in the vault, because Tony will kill me if it gets back to Damon that he squealed." He says, and I nod. "Apparently Stefan has a very interesting Back Story." He says. "Uh huh." I say. "Do you know what happened with his ex boyfriend Alexander?" He asks. "I know they both dated him and that's why they have issues." I say. "Yeah, they both dated him, only he chose Damon. And that drove Stefan mad, so he did horrible things to try and break them up. He manipulated Alex. He filled his head with all these lies until finally it worked, and he turned against Damon." He says. "That sounds like one person's side of the story, meaning Damon's." I say. "I just wanted you to know." He says. "Anyway, his past relationships are none of my business." I say. "Unless he's a calculating, manipulative liar. That is your business." He says, trying on Accessories. "Stefan is none of those things." I say. "Yeah? How do you know?" He asks, looking up at me. We're in my bathroom, he's jelling his hair, and I finish putting my Black nose ring in, and a phone rings, and I walk to my room, and sit on my bed, and grab the home phone, answering it. "Hello?" I ask. "Hi, Ethan. It's Mrs. Lockwood." Mrs. Lockwood says. "Hi, Mrs. Lockwood." I say. "The Pocket Watch isn't in the collection." She says. "What do you mean? It is?" I ask. "Mhm." She says. "Are you sure? Because I saw it." I say. "Can you check?" She asks. "Yeah, let me check." I say, and nod, knowing where it is. Jeremy. "Mhm. I will find it and bring it." I say, smiling, and get up, and walk to the bathroom. "Ok. Bye." I say, and hang up, and head towards Jeremy's room. "What's wrong?" Mark asks. I open Jeremy's door, and walk in, and see he has headphones on, and knock them off. "Ahh. God, what now?" He asks, pulling up the headphones. "The Pocket Watch. Where is it?" I ask, crossing my arms, and he puts the headphones over his head, and sets them in his lap. "What watch?" He asks. "The one you stole from Mom's box." I say, and he nods. "Look, Mrs. Lockwood just called me, freaking out. It was on the list, Jeremy. And she can't find it, and she thinks she's the one who lost it." I say. "Maybe she did. Maybe Tyler took it." He says. "Don't even play that card. Jeremy, you took it. If I go online, am I going to find it on Ebay? Is that how you pay for your pot?" I ask. "Screw you." He says, and stand up, taller than me, and I turn around, and he walks over to his bookshelf, and pulls out the locket, and straightens up, and walks back over to ne. "I would never sell this, ok?" He asks. "Then why did you take it?" I ask. "Because its supposed to be mine. Dad said it goes to the firstborn son, like he told both of us. And you said that I could have it since you aren't making babies anytime soon or ever. His Father gave it to him, and now what?" He asks, and puts it in my hand, and goes to sit back down. "And he was going to give it to you." I say. "Yeah." He says, and I walk to the door, and turn around, facing him, as he has his headphones on his shoulders. "Look, Jeremy, it's still yours, ok? Mom promised Mrs. Lockwood. What do you want me to do?" I ask. "Just take it and get out." He says, and puts his headphones on, looking at me, and I look at the Pocket Watch. I look in the mirror, as I have my hair jelled, and wearing a black formal long sleeve with a red tie, with the sleeves rolled up, and my contacts in with my Tom Ford Holt Square Acetate Black Sunglasses, and sigh, and look at the Pocket Watch on the bathroom sink, and walk over to it, and pick it up. I walk to Jeremy's room, and open the door, and see him with his headphones on, and walk over to him, and put the Pocket Watch on his notebook, and turn around, and walk out, and close the door. I walk to the threshold of the Lockwood Manor with Stefan, looping his arm with my left, and I see Mayor Lockwood. "Hi, Mayor Lockwood." I say, waving with my right, and put my hand down. "Hey." He says, waving, and puts his hand down. "Hey, guys, come on in." He says, and begins to walk off, as we walk in, and I smile. "Thank you." Stefan says. "Have fun." Mayor says, and walks off. We're walking, hand in hand, and Stefan stops, as I look at him, smiling, and he kisses my cheek, and I smile more, and pull him along. It's nighttime, as I'm looking at the Antiques, with my sunglasses on my collar, and someone touches my back, and I look to my left, and see Stefan, and he smiles, and looks down at the Wedding rings, as I smile, and look at them, too. "Your parents?" He asks, and I nod. "There's a lot of history here." I say, beginning to walk off, and he holds my left hand, and I flinch a little, and he let's go. "I'm sorry." He says. "No, it's okay." I say, and take his hand, and smile, and kiss him, and look around. I'm reading the signing of Mystic Falls. "The Founding Families of Mystic Falls welcomes you to the inaugural Founder's Council Celebration." I say, and look at Stefan. "Wow, look, it's the original Guest Registry." I say, and he looks at me, and I look at the Registry. "Look at all these familiar names. Sheriff William Forbes, Mayor Benjamin Lockwood." I say, and see Damon Salvatore written down. "Is that Damon Salvatore?" I ask, and see Stefan Salvatore above it, and look at him. "And, Stefan Salvatore?" I ask, and look back at the Registry. "The original Salvatore Brothers." Damon says, as we both turn around, and see him and Tony, as Tony's wearing a scarf. "Our Ancestors. Tragic story, actually." Damon says, approaching us, and we approach him. "We don't need to bore them with stories of the past." Stefan says, and I look at him, and he looks at me. "It's not boring, Stefan. I'd love to hear more about your family." I say, and we look at Damon, and he smiles. "Well, I'm bored. I want to dance." Tony says, and we look at him. "And Damon won't dance with me." He says, looking at Damon. "Nope." Damon says, and Tony looks at us. "Could I just borrow your date?" He asks, and I look at Damon, and he looks at me. "Oh, uh.." I say, and look at Stefan. "I don't really dance." He says. "Oh, sure he does. You should see him. Waltz, the Jitterbug, the Moonwalk. He does it all." Damon says, as I look at him. "You wouldn't mind, would you, Ethan?" Tony asks me, as I look at him. "It's up to Stefan." I say, smiling, and look at Stefan. "Well sorry, but I'm not going to take no for an answer." Tony says, as I look at him, and he takes Stefan's hand, and I see them begin to walk off, and Stefan smiles back at me, and turns back around, and walks off. "I want to apologize to you for being such a World Class jerk the other night when I tried to kiss you. There's no excuse. My therapist says I'm.. acting out, trying to punish Stefan." He says, and I give a small chuckle. "For what?" I ask. "It's all in the past. I don't even want to bring it up. Let's just say that the men in the Salvatore Family have been cursed with Sibling Rivalry. And it all started with the original Salvatore Brothers." He says, pointing behind him, and puts his hand down. "The Salvatore bane was practically royalty in this town. Until the War. There was a Battle here." He says. "The Battle of Willow Creek." I say, nodding. "Right." He says. "I know, we talked about it in class, but I had already read about it in advance. Confederate soldiers fired on a Church with Civilians inside." I say. "What the History Books left out was the people that were killed." He says, walking around, and I look behind me. "They weren't there by accident. They were believed to be Union Sympathizers. So some of the Founders on the Confederacy side back then wanted them rounded up and burned alive." He says, walking over to a Church model, and I walk over to him. "Stefan and Damon had someone they loved very much in that Church. And when they went to rescue them, they were shot. Murdered in cold blood." He says. "Who was in the Church that they wanted to save?" I ask. "A man, I guess. Townsfolk believed it was a sin, but who knows. Doesn't it always come down to love?" He asks, smiling, and I give a small smile. "Look, I'm sorry that you and Stefan have this thing between you, but I can't get in the middle of it, Damon." I say, and he looks down. "I just.." I say, and he looks at me. "I hope you two can work it out." I say. "I hope so, too." He says, smiling, and I smile back. We walk over to where Tony and Stefan are. "What'd we miss?" Damon asks, and they turn around. "We were just chatting." Stefan says, and I notice they're holding champagne. "Drink, Damon?" Stefan asks, as Tony smiles, and I look at Damon. "No, thanks, I'll pass." He says, and I look back at Stefan. "Uh, Stefan. Do you, um.. by chance have another dance in you?" I ask, smiling, and he looks at me, smiling as well. "Absolutely." He says, and sets the glass down, and I take his right hand with my left, and we walk over to where everyone else is dancing, and I wrap my arms around his neck, and he puts his on my waist, and we begin dancing, and smile at each other. "I hope Damon didn't drive you too crazy." He says, and I laugh. "No, actually, he was on good behavior. He even apologized and explained why he is the way he is. And it all goes back to Alex." I say. "Hm." I say, and he spins my right hand, and I smile, and we lock hands again. "So tell me about him. What happened?" I ask. "It's not something I like to talk about." He says. "I get that. I do. I just want you to know that you can. I mean, I burden you with all of my drama, and I want you to do the same." I say, and he nods. "I know. Thank you." He says. "The truth is. Stefan.. I don't really know that much about you, and I'd really love it if you would open up to me. I'm here." I say. "Damon said something, didn't he? He likes to play games and cause trouble, Ethan." He says, and I shake my head. "Stefan.. this isn't about Damon, it's about me trying to get to know you." I say, and he sighs. "Look, you're the mystery guy, and I like that. But with mystery comes secrets, and this thing with Alex." He says. "Let it go. I don't want to talk about it." He says, shaking his head. "Well, then, please. Just say something about yourself.. uh.. anything. Because otherwise, I'm left with nothing what people tell me, and I don't want you to shut me out." I say, and we stop dancing. "Don't you see what Damon has done here? He's trying to get you to turn against me." He says. "Then I guess it's.. uh.. working." I say, and walk off, crying. I'm sitting with Mark, inside. "This is my fault. I planted doubt. I'm a Doubt Planter." He says. "It's not your fault. I just. I feel terrible because I uh, said I wouldn't get in the middle of it, and then that's exactly what I did. I got all impertinent." I say, and hear footsteps, and look up, and see Mrs. Lockwood. "Ethan, darling, there you are." She says, smiling, and sits in front of us. "I noticed the Watch still isn't in the Collection." She says. "Oh.. um.. I'm sorry, Mrs. Lockwood. I, uh, I.. couldn't find it. I guess it's still packed up in my parents' stuff somewhere." I say, nodding. "I see. Well, please let me know if you do find it." She says, touching my right hand. "Ok." I say, as she puts her hand down, and gets up, and walks off. I meet up with Tony, as he's fixing his hair in the mirror. "Hi." I say. "Hey. So how are things with Stefan?" He asks, and I smile, and pull out my hair gel from my bag. "Great. Just great." I say, opening it, and put my right hand in the gel, and run my hand through my hair. "Really? Well, my radar must be off because I was getting all sorts of other vibes." He says, and I notice his neck. "What is that?" I ask. "Hm?" He asks, and looks at me, and I touch his scarf, but he moves back. "Don't." He says, and I lift it up, and see a bite mark. "Oh, my God, Tony, what happened?" I ask, and he turns around, as I put my hands down. "Nothing, ok?!" He exclaims. "That is not nothing. Did somebody hurt you?" I ask, as he looks at the mirror, and back to me. "No, ok, nothing. It just.. my Mom would kill me." He says, looking back at the mirror, and I pull his the part covering his shoulder down, and see more another bite mark, and he pulls it up. "Did Damon hurt you?" I ask. "No! Of course not! Just leave me alone, ok, Ethan?!" He exclaims, and walks off. I go looking around for Damon, and find him, and stomp over to him, as he smiles, and I shove him. 'There is something seriously wrong with you. You stay the hell away from Tony or I will go straight to his Mother, the Sheriff. You got it? Stay away from him." I say, walking past him without losing eye contact, and turn around, and walk off, and see Stefan but the water. "I'm sorry." I say, as he turns around. "I take it all back. You're completely right about Damon." I say. "What did he do?" He asks. "There are bruise all over Tony's body. Bite marks, and he has him all confused and messed up in the head." I say, and he nods. "You don't look surprised." I say. "Um.. I'm handling it." He says. "Handling it? Stefan, you should be having him arrested." I say, shaking my head. "Ethan, please. I.." He says, and takes my hands, gently. "I don't expect you to understand." He says. "I don't understand anything, Stefan." I say, shaking my head. "So why don't you just clear it up for me?" I ask. "Look, there are things that even you don't know, ok? Things that I want to tell you, but I can't. And I may never be able to." He says, shaking his head. "And I just need you to trust me." He says, and I look down, and back to him. "Trust is earned, Stefan. I can't just, uh.. magically hand it over." I say. "I'm so sorry. I have to go." He says, letting my hands go, and I sigh. I'm walking around, looking for Tony, and see him. "Tony?" I ask, and sigh, and approach him. "There you are. I've been looking everywhere for you. Are you okay?" I ask, and he looks at me, with tears. "Yeah. I'm fine." He says, and I see he has blood near his neck. "Tony, what happened?" I ask. "I'm fine." He says, and I shake my head, as he's crying and shaking. "No. You're shaking." I say, touching his shoulder. "Tony. What." I say, and he interrupts me. "I'm fine." He says. "Tony, come here, come here." I say, hugging him, and he hugs back, crying more.
