I'm in my bathroom, finishing up getting ready, and see that Jeremy's door is slightly open from the reflection in the mirror, and turn around, and walk over to the door, and see him drawing, and smile, and close the door. I walk downstairs, and see Aunt Jenna. "Jeremy's got his Sketchpad out." I say. "You're kidding." She says, as I look up. "Nope." I say, and look down at her. "The minute we encourage him, he'll put it away." I say, walking to the door. "Psychology Major. Check that." She says, as I pull out phone, looking at my texts, seeing if I have any messages from him, and don't. I sigh, and put my phone down. "You and Stefan?" She asks, walking over to me, as I forward. "Update. He knows how I feel and where I stand." I say, and look down. "And I know where he stands, but it doesn't matter." I say, and look at her. "He's leaving. Moving away." I say. "Where's he going?" She asks, as I open the door, and walks out, as I follow her. "I've stopped asking questions. The answers get scary." I say, and close the door. "Yours leaves. Mine returns." She says as I look at her. "Logan?" I ask, as we walk down the steps. "He's back." She says, and I sigh. "I didn't let him past the front door." She says. "Hope you slammed it in his face and it broke his nose." I say. "Medium slam. No broken nose." She says. "Be respectful, Jenna. You're not even allowed to watch the News." I say, as she smiles, and I look forward. "Exactly. No more Logan "Scum" Fell." She says. "Love shouldn't be this hard." I say. "Tell me about it." She says. I'm at school, and tonight's Career Night, as I'm walking with Mark, wearing my Owl Hoodie, and see Matt and Tony, talking. "Did I miss something?" I ask. "They've been hanging out." He says, and Matt and Tony walk into a classroom. "Kind of weird, don't you think?" I ask. "He needs someone nice like Matt, as opposed to a Homicidal Vampire like Damon." He says, and I look forward, and to him. "Yeah. How are you doing with all that?" I ask, and he looks at me. "I'm freaked out. Damon attacked me. I couldn be dead right now. But I'm also grateful." He says, as I'm looking around, and back to him. "Hm?" I ask. "To Stefan. He saved my life, and.." He says, as I look forward, sighing, and approach my locker, opening it. "Have you seen him?" He asks. "Not since he told me he was leaving. For all I know, he's already gone." I say, taking my bag off. "He wouldn't leave without saying goodbye." She says, as I put my bag in my locker, and grab my History book and notebook, and look at him. "Yes, he would. He thinks he's protecting me." I say, and look back at my locker. "Clean break and all that." I say. "So what are you gonna do?" He asks, and I shut my locker, and look at him. "I already begged him not to go. If I ask again, I'm being shelfish. It is what it is." I say, looking forward, and we walk off. "Maybe it's for the best." He says, and I stop, and look at him. "What? Why?" I ask. "I mean, what kind of future could you have had with him, even if he stayed?" He asks, and we see a flyer a blue banner drop in front of us, and I touch it, reading it. The Promise of our Future. "Did you just." I say, and he interrupts me. "No, I swear." He says, and I throw the banner up, and walk under it, walking off. "Oh, God." I say. I'm walking out of the school, and see Stefan, smiling, and I give a small smile, and walk over to him. "Hey." He says, and I look down, and back up to him. "We need to talk." He says, and I nod, and we sit on the table. "There's another vampire killing people." He says. "So you have no idea who it could be?" I ask, and he shakes his head. "None. But it must be somebody new, because leaving a body like that, they're either sloppy, or they're trying to send a message." He says. "And you're sure it's not Damon?" I ask, and he looks forward. "Well, I'm never sure about Damon, but he's been trying to keep a low profile lately." He says, looking back at me. "So it just doesn't make any sense to me." He says, and looks down. "So what are you gonna do?" I ask, and he looks at me. "Damon's tracking them right now." He says, and I look forward. "Look, I promised you the truth, so I wanted to tell you." He says, and I look at him. "I want you to be careful." He says, nodding, and so do I. "When I saw you, I.. thought you were coming to say goodbye." I say, and he looks down. "Ah. Not yet." He says, and looks up at me, and nods. It's nighttime at Career Night, as I'm talking with Matt. "Still want to be an Astronaut?" I ask, smiling, and he laughs. "I can't believe you remember that. But, with your intelligence, nothing surprises me." He says, smiling. "I can remember the Tinfoil that you were on your head." I say, smiling. "I was eight." He says, laughing, and I look down, and back up to him. "How are you doing?" I ask. "I've had it easier." He says, and I nod. "You? Uh, I heard some things. So it's true that you and Stefan.." He says, as I look down to my left. "Yeah, it is." I say, and look back up at him. "What about you.. Matt Donovan?" I ask, walking past him. "I heard about Tony." I say, smiling at him. "Aw, man, not you, too." He says, as I look at a Psychology Field handout. "Hey." I say. "We're friends." He says, and I look up at him, smiling. "Uh huh." I say. "It's not a big deal." He says, shaking his head. "No?" I ask, smiling more. "No." He says, shaking his head, and I hear footsteps, and we look at Stefan. "I'll see you later, Matty." I say, and walk over to Stefan, and we walk off. "I'm guessing you're not here to plan the path for your future." I say, and he looks down, and back to me. "You're looking out for me like you said you would." I say, smiling. "Hope that's okay." He says, and I nod, and look down, and turn around, looking up, and walk over to the Medical Field handouts. "You know, I wanted to be a Doctor before everything happened, but, uh, then I couldn't, because.." He says. "The blood." I say. "Yeah." He says, touching a handout. "I've dabbled in a bunch of different things, though." He says, and I look up at him. "Didn't love anything enough to stick to it?" I ask, walking around. "No, I. I loved it all. I just. I had to move on before anybody could notice that I was getting any older." He says, and I look to my left, and forward, down at another handout. "How long before that would happen?" I ask. "Few years, usually. Sometimes shorter." He says, as I look down, and back up to him. "And you always left?" I ask. "I didn't have a choice." He says, and I look forward, and back down. "So what about. What about you? What are your, uh, plans for the future." He says, and I close the handout, and look up at him. "I don't wanna talk about my future, Stefan, because everything you're saying is making it perfectly clear that you're not gonna be in it." I say, and look back down at the handout. "Ethan, it's not that I don't want to be in it." He says. "You can't, I get it. I heard you the first time and the second time, and I appreciate you looking out for me, I honestly do. But, please, if you're gonna leave, then just.. uh.. go." I say, shaking my head, and he looks down, and back to me, and I hear footsteps. "Hide me." Jenna says, as we look at her. "What's going on?" I ask. "The Scum Fell has landed." She says, and I sigh. "Logan's here." I say. "Wait. Logan Fell?" He asks, as I look at him, and back to Jenna, and she nods, and he walks off, and I look past her, and follow him. "Stefan, what's going on?" I ask, as he looks at me. "Jenna, are you dodging me?" Logan says, as we look at him. "It's a form of Self Preservation." She says. "Um, Ethan, why don't you and Jenna go somewhere else." Stefan says, as I look at him, and he nods, and I understand. Logan's a vampire. I turn to Jenna, and grab her hand. "Let's go." I say, and we walk off, past Logan. "When Logan came to the house, what did he say?" I ask, as we stop walking, and she groans. "Fake flattery. Stupid, dimpled grin. Puppy dog eyes." She says. "I'm serious, Jenna. How did he act? What did he say?" I ask. "He was the usual Logan, was charming, little more manic than usual." She says, as I'm looking down. "He kept trying to convince me to let him in." She says, as I look up at her. "What?" She asks. "Ok, listen to me very carefully. Do not, under any circumstances, talk to him again." I say, shaking my head. "I'm serious, Jenna, like ever." I say, shaking my head. "Hey. Ethan." Alaric says, as I look at him. Jenna." He says, smiling, as she looks at him. "Hi, Mr. Saltzman." I say. "Yeah, I was hoping to, uh, see you tonight." He says. "Career Night is the new Bowling." She says, and he laughs. "Ok. Um, excuse me." I say, running off. I go through the back entrance, and open the door, and see Stefan on the phone, and hold on to the door, and close it, and walk over to him, and he hangs up, and turns around, looking at me. "So anything you'd like to share?" I ask, crossing my arms. "Logan Fell's a vampire." He says. "We have to find him." I say, and we run back into the school. "Hey." Matt says, and I look at him. "Hi, have you seen Logan Fell, the News guy?" I ask, as he walks past us, and looks at us, and stops. "Yeah. He just gave Tony a ride home." He says, walking off, and I look at Stefan. "Stay here." He says, walking off. I'm walking around, and see Stefan, and run over to him. "Tony?" I ask. "He's okay. I took him home." He says, and we walk off. "He was shaken up, but all he knows is Logan attacked him. Nothing else." He says. "Where's Logan?" I ask. "Damon's.. dealing with him." He says, nodding. "As in.." I say, and he nods, and I touch his left arm. "You saw what happened tonight, right?" He asks, and crosses his arms, as I put my hand down. "I mean, you understand why we can't.. be together? You see it?" He asks. "Yeah, I'm starting to see a lot of things, Stefan." I say, and he nods, and I look to my right, and back to him. "Come on. I'll, uh. I'll give you a ride." I say, and he looks down. "Uh, I can get home." He says, looking back to me. "I know." I say, giving a small smile. "All right. That'd be nice." He says, and we walk off. I soon pull up to Stefan's house, and turn the car off. "What I said before about you leaving, it was harsh." I say, looking at him, and forward. "No, no. You. You had every right." He says, and there's a short pause. "You uh.. asked me what I wanted my future to be. I wanted to be a writer." I say, and look at him, and he looks at me. "My Mom sort of pushed me into that direction from the time I was able to read. I started reading chapter books at age four. She supported me, encouraged me. Bought me my first journal, and then she died." I say, and he looks down, and back to me, and I shake my head. "And I can't see myself being a writer anymore. That was something that weshared. I know that you think that you brought all of this bad stuff into my life, but my life already had it. I was buried in it." I say. "This is different." He says. "It doesn't make it any less painful." I say. "I know that it's. That it's hard to understand.." He says, and I shake my head, as a few tears fall. "But I'm doing this for you." He says, and opens the door, and gets out, and closes it, and I look down, and back up, and look at him. I open my door, get out, and shut it, and see him walking off. "No." I say, and he stops walking. "You don't get to make that decision for me. If you walk away, it's for you, because I know what I want. Stefan, I love you." I say, and he turns around, and closes his eyes, and opens them, and walks over to me, and puts his hands on my cheeks, kissing me, as I have my hands on his arms, and hold his wrists, and we make it into his house, deepening the kiss, and I run my hands through his hair, and he breaths heavily, and rest his head on my left shoulder, as I touch his face, and he turns away, and I put my hand down, and touch his right shoulder with my right hand . "Don't." I say, and put both hands on his shoulders. "Ethan, I can't." He says, and I wraps my arms around him, and touch his face. "Yes, you can. Don't hide from me. I'm not afraid." I say, and he turns around, and I see his eyes are red, and he has veins under his eyes, and I touch his veins, gently. "I've been lying to everyone about what happened those two weeks of my injury." I say. "What?" He asks. "I didn't fall like I told everyone. Tony's Father abused me. He took a hammer, and shattered my entire left side, permanently. And then he took acid and poured it over my eyes. I didn't use to be blind." I say, crying. "Oh, my God. Why didn't you tell anyone?" He asks. "He told me not to. Because it would hurt Tony. And I couldn't hurt one of my best friends. I vowed not to tell anyone, but I'm telling you, because you saved me. I was never suicidal or anything.." I say. "Except developed Anorexia." He says, and I look down, and he rubs my cheek, and I look back up at him. "You can't tell anyone. Why do you care so much? I'm not perfect." I say. "I won't. You are perfect to me. It's me that's not perfect." He says. "You're perfect to me." I say, and kiss him again. "I'm not afraid of you." I say, and he kisses me, and his veins vanish, and I take his right left hand with my right hand, and pull him up the stairs, and he wraps his arms around my neck, as I put my hands on his waist, and we begin making out, and make it to his room, and he takes his jacket off, and then my hoodie, and he takes his shirt off, and takes mine off, and I wrap my arms around him, and he lays us on his bed, and we make out again, intertwining my right and his left hand, and I rub his back, and he stops, and looks at me, and I run my left thumb down his lips, and we go back to kissing, and he kisses my neck, and we manage to get naked, and he takes my glasses off, and it gets heated. It's two hours later, as I wake up, a little sore, and see him smiling at me. "Hey." He says. "Hi." I say, smiling, and he kisses me. "Are you okay?" He asks. "Yeah. A little sore, but I'm okay." I say, smiling, and he sits up, and I look up at him, and he kisses me, and runs his hands through my hair. "Here." He says, and puts my glasses on me. "Thanks. I've never been in your room before." I say. "Hm." He says, and rest his chin on my head. "Well, hasn't changed much over the years." He says, as I rest my head on his chest, and he lifts his chin up. "Do you leave everything here when you come and go?" I ask. "It's the only place that. That has remained constant." He says, and rest his chin on my head. "This room holds every memory that I ever thought was important enough to hold on to." I say, and he lifts his chin up, and kisses the top of my head, as I smile, and cuddle up to him more. "A lot of memories." I say, and look up at him. "Yeah." He says, and kisses my forehead. "You hungry or anything?" He asks. "No. You?" I ask, and he gives a small laugh. "Uh.." I say, and give a small laugh, looking forward, and he kisses the top of my head. "I'm fine." He says, and rubs my right arm. "You're body will want some food in your system, ok?" He asks, and I hold his hand, looking up at him. "Ok." I say, smiling, and he kisses me, and I move to the left side, and he gets up, and puts his black underwear on. "Wait." I say, and he turns around, and I extend my right hand, and he takes it, and I kiss him, and he kisses the top of my head. "Ok." I say, and he walks off, and I cuddle up to his pillow, smiling. I get up, and put my red underwear on, and his black formal long sleeve, and leave it unbuttoned, and walk over to his bookshelf, smiling, and walk over to his lit candles, and smell them, and they smell like vanilla. I look down, and see a picture of someone that looks exactly like me, and pick it up, and see it says Alexander, eighteen sixty four. "Oh, my God." I say, and take my Golden Bullet necklace off, and throw it down, and button his shirt, and put my jeans and shoes on, and sneak out of his house, crying. I'm driving down a dark road, as I'm crying more, and shake my head, and look in my rear view mirror, and look back at the road, and see a dark figure in a hood, and I gasp, and slam on the brakes, as I hit him, and my window shatters, and my car flips over three times, and I'm upside, coughing and gasping, and touch the top of my car, and look to my right, and see the figure slowly get up, and walk over to me, and I scream.
