I'm at school, by my locker, with Stefan. "Damon hasn't said a word to me. Every time I try to talk to him, he shuts me down." He says. "Do you think he's still trying to find Alex?" I ask. "I don't know. He waited a hundred and forty five years, only to find out that Alex could not care less. I mean, that's got to hurt, right?" He asks, and looks down. "And it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy." I say, sarcastically, as he looks up at me, and smiles. "You have every reason to be upset with him." He says, and I nod. "Mhm." I say. "Have you thought any more about what you're going to do?" He asks. "About what? Isobel, my Vampire Birth Mother, who's related to my Vampire Ancestor Alexander, who screwed over your Vampire Brother." I say, and he looks down, giving a small smile. "Nah. Haven't thought about it at all." I say, sarcastically, and he looks up at me, smiling. "I'm sorry I brought it up." He says. "It'd just be nice if we could get through one day without having to deal with any of it. No Vampire Mother or Brother." I say. "No Vampires at all?" He asks. "No Vampires but you." I say, smiling, and he smiles back, and looks down. "I just want to get us back to normal stuff like school.. and Homework." I say, and gasp, and he looks up at me. "And. Here's a thought. Fun." I say, smiling. "Ooh, that sounds good to me. When do we start?" He asks, and I laugh, and take his right hand with my left, and we walk into the hall, and kiss. "Ok. I have to go. Love you." I say, smiling, and wave. "Don't study too hard." He says, and I laugh, walking off. We're by Stefan's locker, talking with Tony about a Double Date. "I'm thinking nothing huge, just Dinner at the Grill, maybe a late movie." He says. "You mean like a Double Date?" Stefan asks, as I look to my right with my eyes. "Two pair out on a Friday night, coupled." Tony says, as I look back to him. "Yeah, a Double Date." He says. "Do you think that's a good idea?" I ask. "Why not?" He asks, as I hear Stefan's locker close. "You know, we haven't gone out together before and I don't want it to be uncomfortable for us. Look, the Couple Dynamics have changed, and there's been a little awkwardness between you, Matt, and me, and I just think it's important that we get over it." He says, smiling, shaking his head. "I don't know." I say, shaking my head. "You know what? I. I think that sounds like a great idea." He says, as I look to my right with my eyes, and then look to my right. "You do?" I ask. "Yeah, a nice evening out with friends." He says, and I look at him. "Sounds fun, as in fun. Hm?" He asks, as I look back at Tony, as he's smiling, and I give a small smile. "A Double Date it is." I say  "Ok. So, we will see you tonight." Tony says, laughing, and hugs me, and I hug back, and we release, and he begins to walk off. "Uh.. ok." I say. "Ok." He says, and walks off, and I look at Stefan, as we're both smiling. "Ok." I say. "You know.." He says, whispering in my ear, and I give a small laugh. "That you.." He says, touching my abdomen, and begins kissing my neck. "Ketchup was sold as medicine in the eighteen thirties." He says, laughing, and I turn around, and playfully hit his arm. "Yes. I did know that." I say, smiling. "What I really wanted to tell you is that you should wear my black formal long sleeve." He says, winking. "Oh really?" I ask. "Mhm." He says, leaning in to kiss me, and I cover his mouth with my right hand, and he rolls his eyes, and grabs it with his left, and puts it down, and kisses me, as I laugh. I'm in my room, and the doorbell rings. I run down the stairs and to the door, and open it, and see Stefan, in a gray formal long sleeve and a black jacket, smiling, and holding black and gold roses. "You got me flowers. My favorite, actually." I say, smiling, as he hands them to me, and I smell them, and I move to the right, and he walks in. "Well, I figured it's a date." He says, and shuts the door. "Why not do it right?" He asks, and kisses me. "Tony told me they're your favorite." He says, and I go to the kitchen. "I would have driven, too, but you're the one with the car." He says, as I look back at him, and face forward. "You know, you'd think that for someone who was around when the car was invented, that you'd have one." I say, looking back at him, smiling, and face the cabinet, and open it, and pull out a vase. "Oh, I have one. I just never drive it." He says, and I close it, and look at him. "You know, it's not too late to cancel." I say. "Why would we do that?" He asks, as I turn on the sink to cold, and fill up the vase, and turn it off, and look back to him. "I don't know. It just seems phantasmagorical." I say, approaching him. "Like maybe we weren't meant to get to the normal part." I say, putting the flowers in the vase. "That's exactly why we're going to do it." I say, and he takes the vase, and sets it down to the right, and looks back to me. "We're going to go out, have some fun." I say, and he touches both sides of my face, and I notice his five o'clock shadow. "And try to remember that we don't have to be so serious." He says, and puts his hands down, as I smile, as does he, and looks down. "Listen." He says, and looks back up to me. "When I decided to stay here and to get to know you." He says, and looks to the left, and back to me. "It was so that I could do things like this." He says, and signals to the vases with his right hand. "I could bring my boyfriend flowers, take him out on a date." He says, smiling, as he puts his hand down. "Try to be normal." He says, and I sigh, and shake my head, smiling. "Have you ever been on a double date before?" I ask. "Oh, absolutely. Um, nineteen seventy two. Hef and the Twins." He says, nodding, and I laugh. "What?" I ask, smiling. "Yeah. Playmates. I got Miss June." He says, and offers his right arm, and I loop it with my left. "Are you serious?" I ask, laughing. "Well." He says, smiling, and nods, and I laugh. "You do look great with that five o'clock shadow." I say. "Good thing I don't grow facial hair anymore." He says, kissing me, and rubs his cheeks on my face, and I laugh, and he kisses me. I'm at the Grill with Stefan, Matt, and Tony. "So, uh, Matt, how do you like working here?" I ask. "Uh, it's not that bad. Wait Staff tips out pretty good." He says, and I nod. "You know, they can't keep a Bartender to save their lives. But.." He says, and I look at Stefan, smiling, as he smiles back. "I actually put my Mom up for the job." Matt says, and I look at him. "How's that been? Having Kelly back?" I ask. "You know, the same old Kelly. She's, uh, she's trying, sort of." He says, and I look at Stefan, smiling. "Kelly and my Mom were best friends growing up." I say, and look at Matt. "That's how Matt and I first met. We shared a crib together. Literally." I say. "You're kidding." Stefan says. "No, we've, uh, known each other out whole lives. He always hogged the blankets." Matt says, smiling at me, and Stefan laughs, and Tony sighs, and we hear laughing, and look over to see Kelly, Jenna, and Damon, taking shots. "You got to be kidding me." Matt says. "You still totally hog the covers." Stefan whispers in my left ear, and I playfully roll my eyes. Matt and Stefan are playing Pool, as Kelly screams, excitedly, and we look at her. "Well, at least they're having fun." Tony says. "They're drunk." I say, and I see Jenna laugh. "Remember when Ethan's parents busted us here after Homecoming?" Matt asks, as I look at him, as he's smiling, and Tony laughs. "Oh, my God. Yes!" Tony exclaims. "You two were totally wasted. I warned you." I say, laughing. "It was the first time you ever got drunk, Matt." I say, smiling. "His parents got seated at the next booth." He says. "And Matt had me pretend I was choking so we could get away." I say, laughing. "Except his Dad was a Doctor, so, he jumped up to save him." He says, and I laugh. "And I ran and slipped on the wet floor and bit it. In front of everyone. Do you remember that? Three stitches and I was grounded from seeing this one for a week." I say, laughing. "Well, I'm gonna go to the Restroom." Tony says, beginning to walk off. "Ethan?" He asks, as I look at him, and follow him. I'm in the Restroom, and flush the stall, and walk over to the sink, and turn it on cold, and wash my hands. "So, um.. what are you doing?" Tony asks, as I look at him in the mirror. "What?" I ask, and turn the sink off, and look at him. "Well, the point of this was to show him how much you care about Stefan, you know, not to hopscotch down Memory Lane." He says. "I was just trying to make conversation." I say. "Well, try less." He says, and walks to the door, opens it, and walks out, and I follow him. "Tony." I say, and I walk past a man, as he touches my right wrist. "Alex." He says, as I look at him, and back to Tony. "I'm sorry. You have the wrong person." I say, looking at the man. "Ethan, come on." Tony says, as I look at him, and nod, and look back at the man, as he let's my arm go. "My mistake." He says, as I fake smile, and walk over to Tony, and we go back to the guys, and Stefan puts his right arm over my shoulders. "How's everything going?" I ask. "Matt's cheating." He says. "No need. I'm awesome." Matt says, as I pull my phone out and type in my notes. "That man over there just called me Alex." "Is everything okay?" Stefan asks, as I look at him, smiling and nodding. "Everything's great." I say, and move my eyes down to my phone, and back to him, and he looks down, and looks up, and begins to walk off, and I notice the guy is gone, and I delete it from my notes, and look back to Matt and Tony, and back to Stefan. We soon arrive to Stefan's house, and I stop my car, with me and Stefan in it only. "So, you didn't recognize him? You haven't seen him before?" He asks, and I stop the car, as I look at him. "No, there was nothing familiar about him at all." I say, as he looks down, and back to me. "All right. Let's call it a night. You know? Send Matt and Tony home?" He asks, getting closer to me. "No, the whole point of tonight was to not have to deal with this stuff." I say, shaking my head, and he nods. "We need to get through one night, one normal night." I say, as he looks down, and I look forward, and sigh. "You sure?" He asks, and I shake my head, and look at him. "No, I'm not sure. But I don't know what else to do." I say, and smile. "Look, if there's another vampire in town, he'll still be here tomorrow." I say, shaking my head. "We'll deal with it tomorrow." I say, and he looks down, nods, and looks back to me. "Ok." He says, and I smile, and kiss him, and we hear a car approaching, and see Matt's truck. "Oh, it's them." He says, and looks at me, and raises his right eyebrow, and sets it down, and sighs. "Come here." He says, touching my cheeks, and kisses me. We're in Stefan's house, as I take his jacket off that he put over me earlier. "Yeah." Tony says, as I look at him. "Uh, yeah, this is much better than watching Damon visit Cougartown. No offense." He says. "Don't remind me. Man, I've always wanted to see what it looks like in this place." Matt says, as Stefan walks past us into the Living Room. "Yeah, I guess it's, uh, a bit much." Stefan says, and Matt laughs. "Yeah, my entire house could fit in here, like, twice." Matt says, and Tony and I walk down the steps. "I feel like I've been here before. It's weird." Tony says, and looks at me, and I look at Stefan, and back to Tony. "Do you guys want to watch a movie or something?" I ask, and Matt walks past me. "Woah. These are great." Matt says, as we all look at him, and follow him, as he's looking at a case of model cars. "That's, uh, just a little hobby of mine." Stefan says, and Matt looks at us. "I did the entire Mustang Series when I was nine." He says, and looks back at the case. "You like cars?" Stefan asks, and Matt turns around, smiling. "That's an understatement." He says, and Stefan nods. "Come with me." Stefan says, and they walk off. We follow them to Stefan's Garage, and the door opens, and we walk in, and see a car with a tarp over it. "Prepare yourself, my friend." Stefan says, and takes the tarp off, and we see a red car. "Woah. Wait. How do you have this?" Matt asks, as Stefan opens the door. "Got passed down through the family." He says, smiling at me, and I look down, smiling. "Why don't. I mean. Why don't we drive it?" Matt asks, as I look up, and see him next to the car, looking in the window, and Stefan walks to the trunk. "Well, it, uh, doesn't run." He says, and opens the trunk, looking at me. "I mean, it's not that I could figure it out." He says. "Why would you keep a car that doesn't run?" Tony asks, as I playfully glare at Stefan. "Be more of a boy right now." Matt says, smiling, and Tony fake laughs. "Hey, why don't you come take a look at this for me, and Matt looks at me. "Ethan, remember the old Camaro your Dad used to have?" Matt asks, stepping backwards, and I walk towards him, with my arms crossed. "Of course." I say, smiling. "Yeah. I built and rebuilt that engine twenty six times." He says to Stefan, and looks down at the car. "Wow." Stefan says, as we both look down at the car. "Well, I don't like Sports Cars. They're too hard to make out in." Tony says, and Matt looks up. "Nah, it wasn't that bad." Matt says, and I look up at him, and he sighs, and I turn to Tony, and he walks off, and I sigh, and follow him. "Tony." I say, walking over to him, as he's in the back "I don't want to talk about." He says. "You are being ridiculous." I say, shaking my head. "And insecure and stupid." He says, and looks at me. "But that doesn't change the fact that Matt's always gonna be in love with you and I'm always gonna be the back up." He says, with his arms crossed. "You're not the backup." I say. "Yes, I am. I'm Matt's Ethan backup. I'm you're Mark backup." He says. "Now it's about me and Mark?" I ask, fake smiling, and he shakes his head, and chuckles. "You don't get it." He says, and I shake my head. "Why would you? You're everyone's first choice." I say, and look down, and we hear a car come, and I turn around, and see Stefan driving his red car, and I look back to Tony, and look at the car next to us, and Matt gets out, and shuts the door. "Piece of cake." He says, and Stefan gets out, and shuts the door, and walks over to us. "You know what? Why don't you guys go ahead and take it for a spin?" Stefan asks, tossing his keys to Matt. "Really?" Matt asks. "Yeah." Stefan says, and Matt looks at us, and opens the passenger door. "Tony." He says, and Tony walks over to the car, and Matt walks to the driver's door, and I look at Stefan, and he smiles at me, and I look down at the car, as Tony closes the door, and walk closer to Stefan, looking at him, smiling, and he smiles back, and the car drives off, as I stand next to him, and he puts his right arm over my shoulders. "You all right?" He asks, as we're face to face, and I give a fake laugh. "If it's not vampires, it's guyfriends." I say, and he puts his arms around me, and rubs the side of my face with his left hand, and puts it on my left arm. We soon walk into the hall, and see Kelly with her dress on, and I look at Stefan, and see her walk off. "I got to." Matt says, as I look at Damon, and Tony interrupts him. "It'd fine. Just go." He says. "I'll. I'll take him home." I say to Matt. "Thanks, man." Matt says, patting Stefan's shoulder, and Stefan nods, as he puts his hand down, and walks off, and we look back at Damon, as he's finishing his drink. I'm outside talking with Stefan, and sigh. "Sorry I'm bailing." I say. "Just wish you'd let me drive you home." He says, putting his jacket over me. "Normal people don't have Chaperones or Bodyguards or Babysitters." I say, and he nods, smiling. "We're normal tonight, remember?" I ask, smiling. "I know. I just get so worried about you." He says, smiling more. "Stefan, I can't live every minute afraid taut someone's gonna come after me. I won't. That's not living." I say, and he nods. "Ok." He says, and touches the sides of my face, as I smile. "Call me when you get home safe?" He asks, and I nod. "Mhm. And you too. Or I will walk through Hell with a loaded gun." I say, laughing. "Ok." He says, smiling, and I kiss him, and we stop, and we look down, as he opens the door for me, and I look up at him, smiling, and get in. "Bye, Stefan." Tony says. "Bye." Stefan says, and closes my door, and I put the key in, and start the car, and Stefan  asks up, and I drive off. I'm in my bathroom, brushing my teeth, looking in the mirror, and I see and hear the door open, and see Jeremy walk in, and walks over to me, and I sigh, after taking my toothbrush out. "How was your night?" I ask, and put the toothbrush back in my mouth. "Oh, same old, same old. You?" He asks, and I nod, and take my toothbrush out, and see him put his in. "Yep." I say, and brush my teeth. I'm in my bed, cuddling with my Owl in my black underwear and a gray shirt, talking on the phone with Stefan, smiling. "I'm home. Teeth brushed, ready for bed. Safe and sound." I say. "Oh, good, good. I'm glad." He says. "Is everything all right? You sound serious." I say. "No, no, no, no. Uh, not tonight. You still have a few more minutes left of normal. I'll tell you about it tomorrow, ok?" He asks. "I had a really nice time on our date tonight." I say, and he sighs. "Such a liar." He says, and I laugh. "No, I'm serious. In a way, it was exactly what it was supposed to be." I say. "I had a really nice time, too." He says, and I laugh, and hang up.
