I'm at home, looking into Jeremy's room, as he's in a gray tank top with his right arm above his head, facing the right side, asleep, and I turn around, and close his door, gently, with my right hand, and see Jenna's door is ajar, and walk towards it, and push it back more with my left hand, and look around, and turn back around, as I close the door, and walk to my room. "That'll get easier." Damon says, as I look at him, walking over to him. "But you knew that." He says. "What do you want?" I ask. "I want to apologize." He says, and I sigh, looking to my right. "Damon." I say, about to walk off. "Please." He says, as I look at him. "Ethan, feeding you my blood, I was wrong." He says, and nods. "Yes, you were." I say, nodding. "And I know I don't deserve your forgiveness, but.. I need it." He says. "And I need some time, maybe a lot of time." I say, looking down, sighing. "True. Of course." He says, and I look up at him. "Take all the time you need." He says, smiling, and I look down, and back up to him, and nod. Jeremy and I are walking through the Town Square for the, Gone with the Wind Movie Event, as I'm carrying blankets. "You brought me to see a girl movie." He says. "Believe me. I would rather see a different movie. But, we had to get out of the house, Jer. This is our three hour distraction from reality." I say. "Is that what we're doing? Pretending like our lives aren't screwed?" He asks, stopping in front of me, and I stop, too, and look at him. "We need to do this, ok? Breathe, eat, sleep, wake up, and do it all over again until one day, it's just not as hard anymore." I say, as we begin to unfold the picnic blanket, and crouch down, me on my knees. "Hey! There you guys are. Who's hungry?" Tony asks, approaching us, holding baskets, one in each hand, as we look at him, as Jeremy stands up, and he puts down the one in his right hand, and I take the one in his left with my right hand, as he sets it down. "Are we really doing this?" Jeremy asks, sighing, and I put the basket in my left hand, and sit it down next to me. "Yes, we are really doing this. We are going to take a page from Scarlett. We made it through the war." Tony says, and kneels down on the blanket, as I look at him. "I know you guys went through hell, and my Mom knows I am a vampire, so basically it's like Atlanta has burned. And yet, in spite of everything, we persevere." He says, putting his right fist into the air, and back down, and smiles at me, and I look up at Jeremy, and nod, and he sighs, and sits down. "All right. What are we eating?" He asks, and I toss him a turkey and cheese wrapped sandwich. "Something good." Tony says, as I look at Jeremy, and forward down, and sigh. We're sitting down, and I notice Stefan approaching us. "Hey." He says. "Hi, handsome. Look who couldn't resist an epic romance." I say, looking up at him, and he crouches down next to me. "Will you come take a walk with me?" He asks. I'm walking with Stefan, as my right hand is in his left. "I'm breaking the rules, you know. Movie night's supposed to be a distraction. Tomorrow we can return to our regularly scheduled drama." I say, and we stop walking, and release, and he sighs. "I know. I wish this could wait, but it can't." He says, and I nod, and look to my right, and behind me, and back to him.  Listen, um, the other night when Damon was helping Tyler, something happened. Tyler was starting to transform, and Damon was bitten." He says. "What? Is it. Is he gonna." I say, and he nods. "Yeah." He says. "Oh, my God." I say, and he looks down, and back up to me. "And he came to the house this morning and. And tried to apologize. I practically slammed the door in his face. God, I feel awful." I say. "He told me not to tell you, but I figured if you wanted to talk to him, I. I wouldn't wait." He says. "Stefan." I say, shaking my head. "It's not over. There might be a cure, but I have to find Klaus to get it." He says, and I shake my head. "No. That's dangerous ground. He's gonna kill you." I say. "No, he had the chance to kill me, but he didn't. Whatever Damon's done, whatever has led him here, I'm the one that made him become a vampire in the first place, so if there's a chance for a cure, I owe it to him to find it." He says, and nods, and I sigh, and wrap my arms around his neck, and his right around my waist, and his left around my back. "Go talk to him. Just tell him there's still hope." He says, and we both nod. "Be careful, or I will drag Lucifer out by the horns myself to bring you back." I say, and he laughs. "I'm serious." I say, as we release, and I playfully punch his arm, and he smiles. "I know." He says, and kisses me. I arrive to the Salvatore Boarding House as it's nighttime, and stop my car. I open my door with my left hand, and get out, and shut it with my right, and click my car to lock, and walk towards the door, and hear a thud, and turn around, and face forward again, as someone covers my mouth, as I gasp, and see it's the Sheriff with some of her Deputies. "Don't make a sound." She says. I'm in the Sheriff's Office, walking around, waiting, with my arms crossed, and the Sheriff opens the door, and walks in, as I uncross my arms. "Where's Damon? What have you done to him?" I ask, as we approach each other. "Why do you even care? You know what they are, what they do." She says, and walks past me, and I turn around, looking at her. "Look, I understand why you hate them, but you're wrong." I say. "They're murderers, Ethan. End of story." She says, and I hear a knock on the door, and turn around, and see a Deputy. "Damon Salvatore was just spotted outside entering The Grill." He says, and I turn around, facing her, as she's approaching him. "Wait. You've gotta let me come with you. He's sick. He's. He's not himself." I say, shaking my head, and she walks past me, as I look at her, and she looks at the Deputy. "Keep him here." She says, and walks off, as I run towards the door, and he runs backwards, slamming it, and locking it. I'm walking around the Office, breathing heavily, and turn around, and look at the window. I run over to it, and open the shutters with both hands, and look behind me, and see a chair. I run over to it, and grab it with both hands, and throw it at the window, and it shatters, and I look behind me, and step out of the window. Carefully. I'm running around and through Town Square, and past the movie, looking around for Damon. "Ethan." Damon says, and I turn around, quickly, looking at him, as he's sweating. "Damon." I say, and run over to him, and put my right arm over his shoulders, and his left hand on my waist. "Hey, come on. Come on. We need to get you out of here. We have to hide you." I say. "Where are we going?" He asks. "Home." I say, as we're running, and he trips and stumbles, and I catch him. "Hi." I say, and crouch down. "Relax. We need to get you out of here." I say, he and grabs me, and vampspeeds me to a post, as I gasp. "I choose you, Alexzandr." He says. "Look at me. Hi. It's Ethan. It's Ethan." I say, and he gasps, and leans to my neck, and I put my right hand out, trying to stop him. "No. Damon. No." He says. "I have to.. if we are to be together forever." He says, and bites the right side of my neck, drinking my blood, as I grunt. "Damon, stop. You're hurting me." I say, holding onto his arms. "Damon, you don't have to do this. Please stop. You're hurting me!" I exclaim, and he stops, and steps back, looking at me, and I touch my neck with my right hand, gasping, as he looks at me in shock. "Ethan." He says, and falls on the ground, and I put my hand down, sitting down next to him on my knees. "Damon. Damon." I say, and he leans his head on my shoulder, as I wrap my left arm over his shoulders, and I look around, as he groans. I'm in Damon's room, as he's lying on the bed, sweating more and looks pale, as I'm holding a towel in my right hand. "Ethan." He says. "It's ok, Damon. I'm right here." I say, leaning down. "Ethan, get out of here. I could hurt you." He says. "No." I say, shaking my head. "You won't. I'm her until the very end. I'm not leaving you." I say. "Get out of here." He says, and groans, screaming, tilting to the right, coughing, and then forward and up some, groaning, as he touches his chest with his right hand, and I sit on the bed next to him. "Hey. Hey, hey, hey, hey." I say, and grab his arms, and put his head in my arms, rubbing his right hand. "Hang on. Sh. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay." I say, as he's breathing heavily, and wipe his forehead with the towel. "It's not okay. It's not okay. All those years, I've blamed Stefan." He says, and pants. "No one forced me to love him. It was my own choice." He says. "Sh." I say. "I made the wrong choice." He says, and I look down at him, and he looks up at me, as he's sweating more. "Tell Stefan I'm sorry. Ok?" He asks. "I will." I say, and nod, and sigh. "I will." I say, and put my chin on top of his head. I'm holding Damon in my arms. "This is even more pitiful than I thought." He says, and I look up forward. "There's still hope." I say. "I've made a lot of choices that have gotten me here. I deserve this." He says, and I look down. "I deserve to die." He says, and I look at him. "No." I say, shaking my head, and lay down next to him, facing him. "You don't." I say. "I do, Ethan. It's okay. Because if I'd have chosen differently, I wouldn't have met you. I'm so sorry. Done so many things to hurt you." He says, and I shake my head, and smile. "It's okay. I forgive you." I say. "I know you love Stefan. And it will always be Stefan." He says, and I lay down on the pillow, taking his right hand with my left, and put my head on his shoulder. "But I love you." He says, and a few tears drop from my eyes, and I sniffle. "You should know that." He says, and I cry, and nod. "I do." I say, and feel him smile. "You should have met me in eighteen sixty four. You would have liked me." He says, and I lift my head up, and look at him. "I like you now. Just the way you are." I say, nodding, and his eyes flutter, and close, and I kiss him, and his eyes open. "Thank you." He says. "You're welcome." I say, smiling, and nod, and he gives a small smile. "Well, it's me you should be thanking." Alex says, and I turn looking at him, and get up, as he's holding a vial in his right hand. "I mean, I'm the one who brought the cure." He says, as I walk over to him, and he walks past me. "I thought you were dead." He says, walking over to Damon. "I was." I say, and he sits on the bed. "You got free." Damon says. "Yep. Finally. That irritating old man said the magic words." Alex says, and pours some of the vial into Damon's mouth, and closes it. "And you still came here?" Damon asks. "I owed you one." Alex says, touching the right side of his face, and pats it, and puts his hand down. "Where's Stefan?" I ask, and he looks at me, smiling. "Are you sure you care?" He asks. "Where is he?" I ask, stepping forward. "He's paying for this." He says, holding up the vial. "He gave himself over to Klaus. I wouldn't expect him anytime soon." He says. "What do you mean, he gave himself over?" I ask. "He just sacrificed everything to save his brother, including you. It's a good thing you have Damon to keep you company." He says, and looks at Damon, and back to me. "Goodbye, Ethan." He says, and begins to walk off. "Oh." He says, and I look at him. "It's okay to love them both. I did." He says, and tosses me the vial, and I catch it with both hands, and he vanishes, and Damon and I look at each other.
