Mother's Eyes-  The Head
And The Heart
•Macy's POV•
"Faster mummy faster!" I squealed with joy as we ran through the park, me on her shoulders with my arms out like an airplane. We had came in to London for a day out. We had been to the London Eye, saw Big Ben and even took the underground here.
My mum and I laughed and joked around in the warm summers day. We stopped and lay down on the grass, although with my seven year old attention span, I soon leapt up and pointed over to the large play park.
"Look mummy, can I go please" I begged.
"Okay, but stay safe" She spoke softly, pushing a strand of my curly thick brown hair behind my ear and kissing my forehead. "Have fun"
With that I ran as fast as my little legs could carry me to the massive play structure. My hair was done in small plaits that mum had too and I was wearing a simple pastel purple summer dress and white sandals. I instantly started to climb the large maze of wires in front. It was a fairly quiet part of the city as we were walking for a while, the only other people being a pretty big group of older children by the benches in the other side. After a small struggle and about fifteen minutes, I climbed all the way up to the very top of the big frame and looked around with a mammoth grin plastered to my face.
"Look mummy!" I squealed and looked over to the park where she had sat up and was watching me. She smiled and gave me a thumbs up. "I'm the queen of the castle and you're the dirty rascal" I giggled bouncing up and down slightly. I then started to climb down again, noticing the group of teenagers staring at me as I jumped of the last ledge before running over to the swing.
"Mummy come push me please" I called over to my mum, jumping up and down slightly at the fence where she started to stand up and walk over.
"We can push you if you want" I heard a guy say behind me, I turned around quickly to see a guy with dark skin and a girl with dark brown hair, like mine in front of me.
"Can you?" I asked with a wave of excitement rushing through me, a prominent smile on my face.
"Yeah, of course" The girl with brown hair said in a cheerful voice.
I squeal left my lips and I skipped over to the swings, jumping on. I felt a pair of hands gently pressing against my back, causing the swing to move. Yet another squeal left my mouth and I made my legs swing in time.
"Higher! Higher!" I giggled in joy. A few of the other teens had joined the two as they took turns to push me. "Look mummy! Look how high I'm going" I called over to my mum who was contently watching me from the bench in the playpark, she smiled and nodded at me.
With out warning the now small group of teenagers behind me, I leapt off the swing and landed perfectly oh the ground, I could hear the surprised gasps from behind me.
"Thank you for pushing me" I turned around and looked up at the dark skinned boy who offered to push me. "What's your name?" I asked before he could even reply to me.
"Your welcome and it's Tobi, what's yours?" He said with a trustworthy smile, although I was only seven, I could tell that it was trust worthy.
"I'm Violet, that's mummy's favourite colour!" I added, although he didn't need to know. "Who're they" I referred to the other teenagers, some were beside Tobi and others were still at the benches.
"Well, that's Johanna" He gestured to the pretty blonde girl that his hand was interlocked with "And that's Josh and Freya" He pointed to a boy with a big side fringe and another pretty blond girl who were holding hands who stood beside Tobi and Johanna "That girl there is Macy" He pointed to the brown haired girl he first approached me with, she didn't have anyone beside her but she still looked happy. "and those guys over there are Kate, Jack, Will, Lynn, Manny, Luke, Sarah and Lewis." He gestured to the big group of people they had came from.
"That's a lot of names to remember" My mouth slightly ajar "How do you do it?" I looked up at Tobi with my head cocked to one side. He let out a light chuckle and shrugged his shoulders.
"Do you wanna play hide and seek?" I asked quickly after a small moment of silence.
"Okay" Tobi said after looking around the other teens. "Who will be the seeker first?" He looked down at me with a smile.
"Ummm, I don't know" I said, tapping my chin with my index finger, because I saw my mum do it and thought that big girls did it. "Can you choose?" I looked back up to Tobi.
"Okay, hmmm, how about Johanna and I seek and you all hide" He said after a minute.
"Okay" My eyes widened and I bounced off the balls of my feet. "Count to ten and we'll go hide" I said before running away, the other teenagers who were gathered around me- Macy, Freya and Josh followed me to the other boat shaped climbing frame.
I ran around frantically looking for a place to hide, abandoning the others before sighting a small small crack in the wood, I slipped through it and into a hole that I could fit into comfortably, I knew it was perfect for hiding in.
"Nine... Ten! Ready or not here we come!" I heard the girl, Johanna call out before I heard to running of separate pairs of feet. I knew perfectly well that they were going to stall finding me as I was used to playing with my mum, only the odd time did I play with Mary's children.
One by one I heard them cheering when they found another before they started to call my name, gradually the calls became more urgent and more voices started to call me. I could hear the concern in their voices, especially Tobi's.
"Please come out Violet" I heard Tobi say quite urgently once more.
"Okay" I said quickly before peering my head out of the crack to she them scattered around the play area.
"Thank goodness you're alright" Macy ran over to me and engulfed me in a hug, that I accepted. When we separated the others seemed to look at her with a shocked expression, one that I choose to ignore.
"I'm sorry for scaring you" I coward away a little, knowing I did wrong.
"It's okay, you're really good at hiding" Tobi complimented.
"It's really fun" I said with a giggle at the end.
"Violet? We need to go sweetie!" I heard my mum shout after a short moment of silence.
"Thank you for playing with me" I looked up to the group who all held a look of disappointment in their eyes.
"It was our pleasure Violet" Tobi smiled down at me. I gave each of them a small hug before skipping off to my mum and grabbing her hand.
"This was the best day ever mummy" I beamed up at her.
