•Macy's POV•
"When were you going to tell me?" Josh huffed out to no avail.
When I woke up the letter was gone and so was Simon.
"Are you guys still friends with Macy?" I questioned instead, the only thing sticking in my head being that dream. When everything was fine and I had a mother who loved me so much.
That visit to the park was one of five in the end, that's why I remember it so well.
"You, Macy? well yes" He answered quite dismissively, although I didn't call him out as I knew he was annoyed with me.
"No, the girl you used to hang around with, at the park" I said in the same gentle tone.
"How do you know about her and the park?" He questioned with raised his eyebrows.
"I was there... with you guys" I avoided eye contact, looking down to the cream kitchen tiles.
"What do you mean you were there?" He scoffed, quite dramatically.
"I was the little girl you played with a few times, Lilac" I sighed looking up.
"You looked so different then" He murmured, trying to catch my gaze.
"I was different then" I looked over to the window.
"Macy died a few years ago" Tobi and walked in, breaking the small silence between Josh and I.
"W-what?" I looked over to him, not able to hide the shocked grief I felt for the girl I barely knew.
"Car accident when she was twenty." Josh replied shortly, shifting his gaze, now being the one to avoid eye contact.
"She's where I got my name from." I spoke after an uneasy silence filled the room.
"I'm sorry for you loss" I added.
A few tears pricked my eyes as the feeling of grief filled my lungs again, my shallow breaths not letting me inhale and exhale properly. The feeling of guilt for the silent men around me making me saddened.
