Again

Eren's POV

The first thing I heard were distant screams. I glanced around until I saw them, the Titans. Those that I remembered to be a part of the organization, myself included. This was long ago in a different life. In this era, I was taken away before any advancements of the Serum was made. It was when the Titan Serum was just an idea on ink and paper. The government wanted it as a weapon. The group Titan wanted it to help those in need, but some in the group only wanted it for power. It was not tested on any live sources, until the attack happened.

The group went to my house to find the recipe, the government went to my fathers work. The Titans didn't expect for my mother to even be at home at the time. She was feeling unwell that day, she sent us to go and see father. He knew that he had to run, far away to protect us. It was already too late. Not long after he was murdered.

That was when the Serum got injected only into five subjects that are known. Annie Leonhart, Bertholt Hoover, Reiner Braun, Ymir Fritz, and I. More are probably being injected into younger children as it spreads among the military and the group of the Titans.

"Just forget," the voice said softly. "Please. For your sake, I love you."

I took a deep breath as I calmed my nerves. The voice belonged to my mother. I could hear her voice as if she was with me now. I glanced at the picture of her that was from father's letter. She was smiling with Mikasa and I in her arms.

She whispered softly as she would start to rant. She wanted me to forget but I can't about the past events that occurred. She talked about how happy she was for me, that she cared for me. I knew that I was dreaming, if this happened long ago then I would be frantically looking for her. I would be yelling out her name until someone had to wake me up because they thought I was having nightmares. I would be angry when that happened, I would try my best to go back to sleep but she was already gone. Now that she was here I can finally say what I've always wanted to before she had to go.

"But it's my fault that you're not here right now." I answered as I listened to her soothing voice.

She shushes me as she continued to whisper about how life would of went on if she didn't die. That I would still have joined no matter what, that I'll be doing what I am right now. She told me that this has to be my final goodbye, that she doesn't​ care if the people are found for it's to dangerous and it heads down a dangerous path that lead to her death. I just listened as she started to softly sing a song. I haven't heard it in a while, she would sing it as I started to fall asleep.

"Don't worry, the people can't hurt anyone else anymore," I laid my head in her lap as she softly played with my hair.

She didn't know that the people would eventually be found. That Mikasa was on her way and would let me know when the job was done. It might take hours, days, or even years. I'm one step further to this finally being over. I knew that this is a dream, I just wish for it to last a little while longer.

Levi's POV

Eren looked so peaceful and young when he slept. I run my fingers through the soft mess. Chuckling softly I watched as he opened his eyes. He woke up with tears in them, making them look like turquoise pools that were overflowing.

I pulled him close to me, comforting him. "Are you alright?" I whispered.

He nodded in disagreement, placing his head in the crook of my neck. I felt him breathing in shallow breaths. Pulling him back I cupped his face for me to see him.

"What's the matter?" I asked him.

"I-I h-had a resolution."

"Of what type?"
