*~A Brand New World~*.

My name is Delilah, but I honestly prefer the nickname Lila.

Today, my father told me that my entire family is moving to a new house. It's supposed to be bigger, better, and full of land to explore. Although Oklahoma is landlocked, that never stops my passion for the sea...

It's 3 weeks 'til the end of our little break from school, and dad came down stairs.

"No way! We're moving? Yes! I'm so excited! Where to?" I screamed looking at my father, who just broke the news.

"Over by Elmore. Still in Oklahoma." My dad replied.

Elmore is the next town over. I don't know how long I've dreamed of going there...I've been stuck in this crappy town since the third grade! I'm a freshman now, so you can only imagine how happy I am to finally vanish from sight.

I'm definitely not the one of the more 'sociable' girls, but I don't give them the pleasure of being called popular.

I do play sports, limited to basketball, softball, track, and cheerleading. Our school doesn't offer much, so I just signed up for everything.
I'm also an akward tomboy, whose never really been good with people, especially boys.

"NO!! Dad! Why? How could you!" I heard my older sister yell from upstairs, "I'll be leaving ALL my GIRLS!!!"

My sister Heather is the complete opposite. She's more into girly things such as the color pink, boys, (because she can actually get them) and tighter clothing.

"Oh get over it." I said annoyed, walking to my bedroom to pack my stuff.

I got a big cardboard box, and filled it with all the things I'll want to have in my room first. For instance, the locket that my best friend Crystal found in a pond by her old house, and my journal that reads "Lyla" which is how I prefer my nickname to be spelled.

My mom got me a round little case covered in seashells to put my locket in, and also to put my other necklaces in.

I put a circular, memory foam cut-out in the bottom, to keep it in good condition. But mostly just so I can feel fancy.
One time, I got so curious as to where it came from, and how it ended up in Crystal's backyard, that I visited Grandma and asked her about it.

She told me she had actually seen one before!

"This locket, I've seen one just like it! My mother wore one back in the day, before I was born. But I remember her giving it to me on my 10th birthday.... it had a golden chain and was oval shaped. It was quite big for a locket- and it had a gold, tin plate on the front that slightly turned!
The plate had a strange design on the front that looked a lot like gold, tangled weeds. The entire locket had a beautiful, golden tone. Just like this one!" She exclaimed.

"Really? That's amazing! Crystal found it in a pond behind her old home. She found it one day when she was wading in the water."

"What? Did it float up or something?" Grandma asked.

"Not exactly, Grandma. She stepped on by accident." I laughed.

I smiled, remembering that conversation with Grandma.

I gingerly placed the golden locket into the shell case.

I don't wear it anymore because a few months ago the golden chain broke.

I guess I had been so absorbed into packing that I didn't even realize the time. So I clicked the screen on my phone.

"What? It's already 9?" I said aloud.

"I guess I'll finish packing tomorrow..." I started tucking myself into bed, and turning off my ocean lamp.
