•Heather's A What?!•
"So it's true!" Said Jade, "We should've believed you!"
"It's fine. all that's important now, is that she doesn't know that we know about her." I said sighing.
"This is bad. What are we going to do? what if we can't go out there anymore?!" Panicked Crystal.
"We can always go out there! don't worry about it! Besides, I have a plan...I mean, ask yourself, what do we really know about the moon pool?" Jade said, and motioned towards the door.
"You coming or not?"
•at the moon pool•
*the three girls are already in the water*
•Crystal POV•
Jade is going into leader-mode.
Great.
"Ok, so we need to search every square inch of the moon pool, and the river. Don't forget under currents, and possible tunnels." Jade stated.
"Got it.'' I agreed.
"That'll take us hours Jade!" Lyla complained, "What do we do in the mean time?"
"We swim." she smiled.
•Lyla POV•
Well, I guess Jade was right.
It was still amazing!
I was on moon pool duty, and I went underwater to search. I knew the right underwater tunnel-like entrance was the way to the river, but I never checked to my left.
I swam towards the left and what do you know, there was another tunnel-like entrance!
I tried alerting the others, but they were checking the river.
I went ahead and swam through it.
I swam as fast as I could, and boy was I surprised! I can torpedo through the water! I was moving so fast, my tail stirred up bubbles all around me!
I'm quick using my tail, and I wave my hands out front to stop myself. I turn back around and went through the right tunnel entry. I found Crystal and Jade.
I tapped on jade, and pointed to the moon pool.
She nodded, and Crystal followed, swimming with me back to the moon pool.
We surfaced. "Guys! there's another tunnel-like entrance down there! To the right! It's big, just like the other one, we can all fit!" I said as fast as possible, and dove down immediately.
The two other girls followed me down, and were equally as surprised.
We all swam in, side by side, and were amazed at what we saw.
There was another river!
This one was longer, and led to something huger.
The ocean.
"The ocean! this river takes us to the ocean!" Screamed jade.
"How do you know?!" Crystal asked.
"This river is connected to the Atlantic coast, and I know because this is saltwater! not freshwater!" she explained, and then it all made sense.
"So if this leads to the Atlantic coast, and is saltwater, and the river is freshwater, and leads to a lake, then that must mean..." I trailed off.
"The moon pool is made up of brackish water! I knew I tasted salt!" Jade finished.
"Wow. this leads to the ocean. I wonder how long it would take to get there!" crystal said, marveling at the length and distance of this strange river.
"Not long. I figured out that we can swim faster then torpedoes! we can swim so fast that the water makes a 'SHWOOO' sound, and bubbles fly around us!" I said, remembering what happened earlier. "Ill show you!"
I dove back underwater, and showed them how fast mermaids can swim.
We swam side by side, all the way to the deep blue sea. We even met some friends!
Bottle nose Dolphins!
We swam with them for a few hours, then we headed back to the house.
