*~New Discoveries~*
After two weeks of back breaking work, it was finally looking like a nice home.
"So we've got everything in our new house?" I heard Heather ask dad.
"Yep. Everything is set up and arranged thanks to your uncle and I." dad replied, pleased with his work.
"Ugh." she muttered under her breath.
"Dad," I asked, walking around the corner of the stairwell as if I just got there, "May I go and explore?"
My dad is a sucker for a smile, so I made sure to smile as widely as possible.
"Oh alright. Be back before dark."
"I will. Thanks dad." I said turning to walk into the woods in the backyard.
'This is creepy...' I thought to myself , walking through the briars and weeds.
It was a long walk, before I noticed a stream, that seemed to stretch all the way from where I standed, to as far as I could travel. It wasn't big enough to be called a river, but it was much more than a trickle.
It might be navigable, I thought, By a canoe or a small speedboat.
I kept walking, until I saw a bright...Well I didn't know what it was, quite yet, but I got closer.
In the distance, there was a clearing.
I walked towards it.
Almost, drawn towards it.
The setting sun still lit a good portion of the grass, so I walked to the middle of this small clearing.
This is where the stream seemed to end.
A small pool of water, surrounded by strange stones I'd never seen before in my life.
Even weirder....the pool was shielded by a roof-like natural creation of rock, and it almost looked like a cave, except the part facing me was open, and the other side was shielded by rock.
The rock roof was rounded and ingrown in a line of vines.
It was all so beautiful....
Amazing.....
Magical.
When I got closer, I noticed a hole in the top of the round rock roof.
The roof-like structure was carved all the way up to this tiny hole, almost like an upside-down bowl with a hole in the bottom.
The water glowed, sparkling pink and orange colors in the setting sunlight.
I felt so peaceful there, and it was so beautiful.
The water is a deep blue, and it's a very tempting pool, speaking of 100 degree temperatures.
But I head back to the house thinking, 'No way!'
----------Lyla's Room---------
I plopped on my bed, thinking about that pool.
"What was it anyway?" I started thinking out loud.
Probably just a well... those aren't uncommon around here.
That night, I opened my blinds since we are in the country now, and fall asleep under the moonlight.
•°•°•°•°•
I sat straight up in my bed.
The water.
The cave.
The pool.
I have to go....
NOW.
I opened my window, and jumped onto the cold ground. I bolted into the woods, without a sound. I ran all the way to the clearing, where I found the pool.
I dived into the glowing water.
