Crystal POV

"Would you like a drink?" A kind stewardess asked, beaming.

"Yes, Please! Um, can you make it Pepsi?" I asked. "Of course." She smiled brightly and pulled a refreshment cart over to our seats. First class gets served first. She gave me my pepsi and looked at Lyla. "Um... coke please." Lyla asked.

"And you?" She looked at Jade. "I go healthy. Papaya juice." "Ooh! Me too!" She smiled and gave her a bottle of juice. She gave Lyla her Coke as well.

I pulled out my tray out from the seat. "This is really nice! Don't you agree?" Lyla smiled, and so did Jade.

We had no idea what evil was about to overcome us.

***Meanwhile, in Florida*** (surprise point of view)

"Oh...that was 20 years ago...the years fly by! I already went through the despair of almost getting fired from my one passion: marine biology! I've been stationed in Florida now, and my boss said if i don't get anything remarkable soon he's cutting me off. Now my blonde hair is turning gray, and I have never found another sample like that one a young man unwittingly gave me. I think his name was...Lewis?

I must find that trio of mermaids! Or maybe...there are more. I need to find more mermaids!!

I will NEVER stop until I find them! I know there's more! Something might change the fate of my career soon. No, I can feel it right now. Something is happening right now that is going to turn the tables.

I just know it."

Lyla POV

When the plane finally landed, We were all happy. It felt like you were about to crash on the ground. The second the first wheel hit the runway, a jolt of pressure smacked my body. It is hard to explain it, but it felt like jumping your bike over a ditch and landing on the other side. Although the plane was fun, I couldn't wait to sink my feet in the sand.

"Mom, can we go to the beach? It says North Beach is not far away." I asked my mom with puppy dog eyes.

"Knock yourselves out. Me and Heather are going to my patient's condo." She raised her eyebrows and waved down a cab. It pulled over and she and Heather walked towards it.

Before she closed the door, she called "Hey! Promise you'll call me, okay? And try to get home before 10:00. I'll come get you guys when you call me." She closed the door and they sped off.

"What are we waiting for?" I swirked and walked past the North Beach sign.

I have to admit, the beach was kinda creepy at night. The waves crashed on the shore, spraying a luxurious mist of salty bubbles. I could almost taste freedom, and I was dying to let it take me.

I dove in, leaving Crystal and Jade on the beach. After seconds, I heard two more splashes and soon I saw Crystal and Jade swimming beside me, kicking their feet. Soon their feet turned into a graceful fin. I smiled and kept swimming for about 20 more minutes, then turned back around. We were very far out at sea, so it took a while to get back to shore.

Once I drug my tail up the beach, I waited a bit for Jade and Crystal to catch up.

*Surprise POV*

There I saw them. They were scooting their tails up the beach. They positioned their hands over their tails and dried their tails. They stood up on two legs that appeared out of nowhere! How do they do that!

I knew it!!!!!! More mermaids!!!

I ran down there, acting natural.

"Hello girls! Who might you be?" I asked.

"Um, Lyla, Crystal, and Jade. Why?" They gave me strange looks.

"Oh it's just your t-tails..." I stuttered. Crap, I shouldn't have let that slip.

"Um I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean..." That Lyla girl said. Lyla lied through her teeth.

"Well where are your parents?'' I blurted out.

"They're...um....they are just, over there" she pointed toward the ice cream stand.

I turned to look, and I heard a "Run!"

And those three pests ran away!!

They took three dives into the ocean.

Oh well.

All in good time.

I will get them soon.
