--Lyla POV--

We came in through the door, and by the look of mom's face, I knew we were in pretty big trouble.

"HOW COULD YOU NOT CALL?!? AND NOT EVEN SHOW UP?!? YOU COULD'VE ALL BEEN KILLED!!!" She screamed in my face. I wasn't mad at her, I knew it was my fault. She was just worried about us.

"Okay mom, I'm really sorry. We ran into some creep down at the beach. It was an old woman though. Harmless." I calmly explained.

"Well I appreciate your honesty, but i'm not happy with you right now. Go upstairs and go to your bedrooms. Second door to your right." She still looked like she was about to blow. "Keep in mind this is not even our house. So don't tear anything up. Make the bed once you have all woken up tomorrow morning."

We scurried upstairs and opened the second door to our right, as mom had said. There were two bunk beds on the ends of this large room. It was completely sea-themed, and there were even mermaid murals on the wall. The strokes of the paint brush were visibly precise, and each scale on the mermaid's tail was sculpted to perfection.

"This place is amazing!" Crystal exclaimed and touched the walls in awe.

"You bet it is! It is gorgeous!" Jade pulled me over to a jewelry box covered in shells. "Hey Lyla, come look at this!" There was a small oval shaped window in the center, and I bent over to look inside.

There they were. Three sparkling silver lockets.

"Oh my gosh... they're absolutely beautiful!!" I said, looking more closely. The one on the far left had a small circular red jewel, probably a ruby, just at the top of the locket. It was a very romantic red, as red as a rose.

I loved it.

This must represent a rebellious beauty. Just as the saying: Even a rose has it's thornes.

The one in the middle was identical to the red jeweled one, but instead of the red jewel, it was an aquamarine, clear-blue jewel. It represented a clear soul, a clear mind.

Organization. That sounds alot like Jade.

The last one was identical to the last two, but contained a jewel the color of the seas. Blue as the crashing waves on shore. It too was absolutely wonderful. This must represent a deep soul, and a big heart. Just as the ocean.

"I see you've noticed the lockets." A soft voice sounded behind me.

I was startled and jumped up. I turned around to see a woman standing in the doorway. She looked about 30, and she was tall with dark brown wavy hair. Another woman, around the same age took a spot beside her. The other woman had curly light blonde hair and red lipstick. Another woman stood beside the blonde girl. This one had straight dirty blonde hair with a hair clip on the left side.

"What are your names?" The girl with curly blonde hair asked.

"Um, I'm Lyla, this is Crystal, and this is Jade." I gestured to each of them and they gave a warm smile.

"Really? That's some cool names you got there! My name is Rikki, the brunette is Cleo and this one is Emma." Rikki smirked.

Cleo gave a friendly wave and Emma smiled. A tall man with loosely spiked blonde hair walked up to Cleo.

"Oh and this is Lewis." She smiled, and teasingly nudged him.

"Oh, I'm, we're ... she's my wife." Lewis blushed.

A muscular man with dark brown hair playfully grabbed Rikki's shoulders and said "Babe, dinner is ready."

"I'll see you later Lyla." She smiled and walked out of our room. The rest of the gang followed.

"Who are they?" Jade asked out loud. I just bit my lip, because I didn't know the answer.
