• Semi x Een •

---

When I regain consciousness, I see Semi's face over mine, looking down at me.

I could get used to this.

Semi raises an eyebrow when I sit up, and only then do I take note of the stinging pain on my palm. There was an injection connecting me to an IV drip, and I knew exactly what happened even before he lets me know what was wrong.

"Goddamit, Een. You know you're hypoglycemic, why can't you just eat? What's the hard thing about eating?" He yells, when I lie back on the bed. When I cover my face with the bedsheet, he hisses under his breath before pulling it off from me.

"This is serious, okay? I walk into your room fifteen minutes before your deadline to offer to take your project to the office and give you a break. And what do I find? You lying on the floor. I tell this to my mom too, and now I'm telling this to you; why the fuck can't you guys eat?!"

"Oh yeah. Your mom too."

"Een, I swear to God."

"Fine, I'm sorry. I don't usually do this now, you know." I mumble.

It takes me a couple seconds, and then I turn to face Semi.

"What's the time?"

"Time? It's uh," He pauses, glancing at his wristwatch, "10.46 pm. Don't worry, I got food from the cafeteria so you can eat-"

"No! My project! I had to submit-"

"Oh don't worry. I got Miyuzawa to submit it before she came here to see you."

"You.... What."

"Miyuzawa Aimee. Your friend, Aimee. The one with the black hair and nasty attitude."

"Eita, I know my best friend. Please stop before I slap you."

Semi is too busy laughing at his own sarcastic joke, his laugh being too contagious for me to not join in.

"No, but seriously. I know you worked hard on it. And you said you worked half a year for it. So I gave it to be submitted," He reaches into his pocket and hands me a piece of paper. I open it and see that it was the slip of admission, and I sigh in relief. It was submitted two minutes before 7 pm.

"Eita, thank you," I mumble. "Also, can we go out of here?"

"No."

"Cripes."

"What the fuck have you been reading to get that word?"

An hour later, Tendou pops inside, along with Hichimiya, who runs up and tackles me into a hug.

"You idiot, I keep telling you to eat. We even have that timer app thingy!"

"I had the Wi-Fi turned off. And seriously? Timer app thingy? We need to improve your vocabulary."

Tendou, for some reason, finds my remark hilarious, doubling over until Hichimiya kicks his shin. A few minutes later, I get discharged, when the nurse lets me know that my glucose shot is over.

The four of us take a bus back to school, fully exhausted. Tendou and Hichimiya tell us about how they had gone to the arcade, playing every game that existed before Hichimiya had beaten her boyfriend by a sorry 17-15.
