There were two reasons why Takeru announces that he would be the one doing all the cooking in our household.

The first one was that he was actually a really good cook, much to my shock. When I first left to Shiratorizawa, he had confessed to having been living on instant noodles and store-bought rice. But somewhere along the way, he had found a deep affection for; 'the sound of meat on a pan'. And now, here he was, cooking two meals for us every morning. Both Takeru and I were heavy sleepers, so we usually end up waking up late if Semi didn't stick around or if he overslept as well.

And the second reason....

Well, Semi and I were not good at cooking, if our constant 'D's in Home Economics was any indication. In fact, my soulmate swore that the only reason why we even passed in it was because we had arts and crafts every other day, and that Sayaka-sensei was lenient in grading us.

Takeru was not pleased with the fried chicken that I made. And he was even more displeased with the tomato soup Semi had looked up and tried to make, and that was when he decided that Semi and I were no longer allowed to stay within a five-meter radius from the stove.

"Not just that," He has to say, while pouring the curry he prepared into the bowl, "But this is the least I can do to help you both out when you're doing this."

"Yeah, but you can't just do this because you feel like you owe us. Because really, we let you stay here because we care about you." I say to my brother, and take a glance at Semi for support.

At least, that's what I was hoping for, but he is busy pouring the curry into his bowl.

"Nah, let Takeru cook. He makes good shit. Plus," He has to add, "Een, you suck at cooking."

"Yeah, what Eita said." Takeru nods, sitting down. "Let's eat."

I was surprised that the chopsticks in my hand did not crack; I was squeezing them too much, and it was happening often since Semi and Takeru had gotten along enough to 'roast' me, as they liked to call it.

But most of the times, they weren't wrong, so all I could do was to pile my plate with potatoes and eat in silence.

"So? The actual studies for you guys start tomorrow, right?" Takeru wants to know. Semi gives a nod, taking a piece of vegetable from my plate and stuffing it into his mouth.

"Yup. Orientation was boring, but I made some friends."

"You should bring them over some time, if you get along in classes." I say. When I turn to glance at Takeru, he is stirring the tofu in his bowl around in circles.

My brother only ever played with food when he had something to say, but he was hesitant.

"What's wrong?" I ask, raising an eyebrow. Semi turns to look at him as well, and my brother sighs.

"Well. Riku wants to get dinner with you both sometime."

"Ooooooh."

Riku was adorable. I had once whispered to Semi that I wanted to adopt him because he was such a precious little ball of sunshine - who never failed to remind me of Hinata.

In response, my soulmate had furrowed his eyebrows at me, lips purising while he pouts and looked down at me.

"What the fuck, Een. I don't want a child yet."

"Wait, I didn't mean it like that-"

"Gross, Een. You want your little brother to be your son-in-law?"

The fact that Semi went with logical approaches every oppportunity he got, drove me insane.

Even while we worked the two hour shift at the cafe', he never failed to drive me insane.

If Aimee was around, she would have cut off Semi's hair, the way she had trimmed her hair up to her cheeks, as seen when we video-chatted, a couple nights ago.

According to Semi's information, Tendou had joined the local volleyball center. It didn't come to me as a surprise, when my boyfriend lets me know that Tendou was teaching little five to ten-year-olds how to play the sport he loved so much... All while Hichimiya was part of the theatre department right below her own boyfriend.

It was amazing that they had managed to get jobs where they would work together all day. I missed them so much that I wanted to go visit them already.

But Semi thought it was too ealry to go and that we would be 'wasting' money.

Well, he wasn't wrong, that was probably what drove Aimee insane.

"Sure, why not?" My soulmate's unfazed voice interrupts my thoughts.

While I bubble up in excitement, my soulmate does nothing except to stab another piece of potato from my plate and munch it up.

"You guys are okay with it?"

"Duh," Semi butts in, before I can even open my mouth, "She has a whole set of doujins under her bed which she thinks I don't know where she had them hidden at."

"Eita!" I cry, appalled. This makes Takeru chuckle softly, watching me and my soulmate's endless banters.

"Een, can you clean up? I'm going to practice out today." My brother lets me know at the end of the meal. Nodding, I get up, and he takes his coat before he leaves the apartment.

"Holy fuck. My very first class is Calculus." Semi hisses, tapping on the screen of his smartphone. I giggle while I take the plates and load them into the dishwasher.

A week passed by after orientation, and, taking a lesson from the previous disaster, Semi had his bookbag pre-packed already. We had taken two hours for me to decide on perfect stationery, and even though he raised an accusing eyebrow when he saw that our materials were matching, he only shakes his head and let me off.

That was one of the reasons why Semi and I managed to get along even though we were different in nature. The things I find interesting, somehow, end up slightly annoying him, while it also makes him slightly amused at what a simpleton I am. On the other hand, Semi's expressionless face first thing in the morning was something I had been trying to get him to change, but he looks irresistibly cute with his bed-hair sticking out so much, that I let it go at the end of the day.

It took Takeru three days to label us as the most disgustingly idiotic couple he had ever had the horror of coming across.

Neither of us were perfect. After all, we were different people.

But here was the thing, despite all that, we learned to give in to the minor things, so we spent more time happy than most others would.

In our own ways, and it was still perfect; For the two of us.

And that was all that matter; For the two of us.
