A/N am I the only one who was reading the last chapter i posted going 'damn this sucks." ? Or was that just me...? Heh...

"Guys!" Luke yells, slamming the door shut behind him. "We're back."

The plastic bag holding the cookies and Nutella Luke and I bought crinkles in the crease of my arm as I carry it into the kitchen, setting it down on the marble counter. Luke was sweet enough to get me my favorite rainbow sprinkle sugar cookies as long as I promised to share them with him, plus, the chocolate chip ones he got for us both. (If you think my relationship with Luke is completely and utterly immature, you are correct.)

"I'm back, Cal!" I say as plop down next to him on the couch. Low and behold, he refuses to look at me.

"What's the matter, Cal?" I pout.

"You left me." He says sticking his bottom lip out. "I didn't see you for thirteen hours and then you leave me for thirty minuets." He begins to fake cry and I struggle to keep my laughter at bay.

"I'm sorry, Cal!" A smile is fighting to break my fake pout. I wrap my arms around Calum's torso as he continues his fake crying session into my shoulder. (If your also thinking that my relationship with Calum is even more immature than Luke and I's, then again, you are correct.)

"It's okay." I can see Calum is fighting to keep his smile back as well. "I still love you."

"Yay!" My giggles finally break free as well as Calum's and we are a laughing heap on the leather couch, soon clutching our sides.

Before Luke's mom kicked his dad out of the house, we couldn't do this. Hell, we weren't even aloud to come here. Luke's dad was an asshole and his mom gave him the boot, and we can all just be crazy now. Not to mention Luke's mom also works night shifts at wherever her job is, so we basically have the entire house to ourselves most the time. Just me and the boys.

"So, are you ready for that cover you said you'd do?" Luke asks me, a chocolate chip cookie already in his hands.

"We're doing that today?" I can already feel a nervous knot twisting in my stomach.

"Yeah, why not?" Luke shrugs and takes a bite of his cookie.

"Oh, okay." I nod, swallowing the nervous lump growing in my throat.

It's just a cover...

~*~

"Okay then. Everything is set up." Luke says as he thumps down the stairs. "I'm ready whenever you are."

I swallow, nodding from my spot on the couch to Luke who is waiting at the bottom of the stairs for me. I don't know why I'm so nervous. It's just one cover and it would make Luke happy. If Luke's happy then I'm happy, so in a way I'm helping myself. I just wish this favor didn't end up with my face on their channel for other teenage girls to see. Once again my self hate prevails.

"You'll do fine, Vi." Michael reassures me. "It's just a cover. Trust me, it's not that big of a deal."

"It's impossible for you to do any less than amazing, Vi." Ashton smiles.

"Thanks." I take a breath of relief. If they think I'm good enough to appear on a cover with Luke Hemmings then I guess I'm not that bad. But then again, they tell me nice things all the time..

Suddenly I get a quick burst if confidence. Something in Luke's smile just...lit something in me like it always does. His smile never fails to make something in me change. Luke has always had a special affect on me that no one else ever has, not even ashton. No matter what connection Ashton and I have, the one I have with Luke is always stronger. Always. Even when we were thirteen, Luke was always special to me. That specialness grew larger and stronger with time.
