An annoying stream of light seeps in through my unclosed window blinds, hitting my face, a loud groan rising out of my throat. I lift my head, my eyes squinted tightly in attempt to try and keep the bothersome light out. Even with my eyes just about shut, they are open just enough for me to make out a familiar blonde boy laying beneath me, a cheeky smile on his face.

"Hey, Luke." My voice is raspy and thick with sleep.

"Hey, sunshine." He smiles and begins twirling a few strands of my hair between his long fingers. His voice is really raspy too, laced with the sound of sleep. I'm assuming he didn't get up a long time ago. To be honest, his sleepy voice is sexy as fuck, but I would never tell him that.

Once I come to my senses a little more, I realized my hands are pressed against a hard surface that I soon realize are Luke's abs. Luke has his other hand draped over the small of my back and I'm guessing we both just fell asleep after our little game of truth, not changing our position at all. Something about the way we were just laying here so effortlessly was nice. I'm not really sure how to explain it. I just liked it. Maybe I liked it a little more than I should, but who really gives a fuck?

I prop my head up on my elbows so I can get a better at Luke's smile. "Well, I need to get dressed." I say once I realize I'm still in my clothes from yesterday. I didn't change when I got home, I just retreated to my bed.

I try to wiggle away from Luke, but as usual he's stubborn about it. "Don't leave." He groans, tangling me further into his arms.

"Luke," I sigh. "I'd like to get out of these skinny jeans. They're highly uncomfortable to sleep in." I laugh.

"But they make your ass look nice." He smiles innocently.

"You're gross." I swat his chest but another smile breaks through. God damn, it never fails.

"Oh come on, that's why you love me." His smile doesn't falter for even a second. Luke Hemmings, you really do know how to get under my skin.

"Yeah, sure." I roll my eyes as Luke finally lets me slide of his chest, allowing me to scamper into my bathroom where I find a pair of black yoga pants and a grey t-shirt that lay on the cold tile in a disheveled pile.

After I shut the door I slip out of my skin tight skinny jeans and hoodie before throwing on the clothes I found on the floor. I knot my hair up into a messy bun and pluck my nerd glasses from my bathroom counter. I set them the right way onto my face before I exit back into my bedroom where I see Luke sitting up, looking bored.

Normally I wouldn't be wearing my geek glasses In front of another living soul, but it's just Luke and he has seen me in a state far worse than this. Luke cranes his neck toward me and I see his eyes widen.

"God, what is it now, Luke?" I sigh.

"Violet Summers, who the hell bought you those pants?" Luke swallows and Looks down toward my legs where my snug yoga pants hug tightly.

"Jesus Christ, Luke, is my ass really that distracting?" I shake my head. God, my best friend is weird..

"Yes, Vi!" Luke exclaims. "It really is!"

"Whatever." I roll my eyes and sigh, padding back over to the bed.

"Seriously, Vi," Luke starts. "It should be illegal in forty seven different countries for you to be wearing those glasses, your hair like that, and those tight ass yoga pants in the same outfit. It's going to give guys everywhere whiplash, including me." He runs his hand through his hair, slightly biting his lip. Soon that little lip bite is replaced by a smirk, the same smirk he does whenever he knows he's getting on my nerves.

"Jesus, Luke." I shake my head. "Since when do you check out my ass?"

He just returns with a smug smirk. "Ocasionally."

"You really are disgusting." My nose scrunches but we both end up laughing, like always.

After our laughter dies down into giggles, then into non existence, I flop back onto the mattress, my arms outstretched and I almost hit Luke. Even when Luke straight up tells me that he checks out my ass, nothing ever changes. Anything could happen and I'm convinced our friendship wouldn't change for the world, and I like it this way. I like-no, love knowing I'm going to have luke with me forever, or a long, long time at least. Just like Hazel Grace, I need a little infinity and I have Luke for that. I'm just happy neither of us has cancer, cause' that would certainly suck.

"But seriously," Luke breaks the small silence. "I miss the older days."

I shift a bit so I can look at him. "Why?"

"I dunno," he shrugs. "I guess I miss the old you."

"The old me?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Yeah, the old you." He says. "Like, before you got your contacts and you always wore your nerdy glasses." He smiles as I assume he's remembering thirteen year old me in my big ass nerd glasses. "I always got to tease you about them, when I really actually thought you looked pretty cute in them."

He seems so lost in his thoughts, and the sincerity of his words is weird. Really weird. It's not often you get to see Luke Robert Hemmings get this deep into thought on a daily basis, especially about my nerd glasses. But he thought I looked cute In them, which almost makes my heart skip a beat. I don't even know why that one comment shook me up so badly, but I find butterflies churning in my stomach and a light blush creeping up on my cheeks. God dammit Luke, you did it again.

"Seeing you in them now," he sighs. "Just brings back memories of you back then I guess. I mean, it's already been over three years." He shrugs.

Then the river of memories breaks the floodgate and come rushing back; the good ones of Luke and I just being complete idiots along with Cal and Mikey and later on, Ash. I smile. I guess I could say that my fourteenth year has been my best. Well, if I forget the time I tried to swallow the pills, but other than that, my fourteenth year was great. It was bittersweet. It was to amazing for words in some areas but also dreadfully awful in others. But I had Luke, which made everything that much better. Then again, Luke makes everything better.

"Can I confess something?" Luke asks with an almost ridiculously childish smile.

"Yeah sure. Fire away." I laugh as Luke's smile gets wider and more childlike

"Okay, when we were fourteen," he stops for a second to let out a laugh before continuing. "I had like, this insanely huge crush on you."

I laugh, he laughs, and it's like we are fourteen again. The time seems so distant now, it's almost sad how much time has passed between then and now. I never took the time to enjoy those years, even though they could be complete hell at times, I still miss them. I don't know where all this nostalgia is coming from, but it doesn't make that much sense. I don't know what's up with me lately. I'm acting weirder than I usually do. I decide to brush it off. It's probably just a phase.

"Wow, lukey. Your a little bad with timing." I laugh as he runs his fingers through his messy blonde forest of hair.

"Maybe." He smiles. Seconds later a buzzing comes from somewhere in the duvet and Luke pats around until he finds his phone, the source of the buzzing.

He smiles faintly before tapping away quickly at his screen, probably answering a text. A few seconds later, his phone has disappeared again somewhere under my comforter and he looks at me with a mischievous smile.

"What?" I say slowly, arching my brow at him.

"You and I, are going to a party." He announces, his smirk still holding.

God damn you Luke fucking Hemmings.
