A man in a black t-shirt walked down the college hallway dorms. He kept mumbling words under his mouth as he wrote notes in his phone. He walked into his dorm and opened the door with one hand. He stepped on an envelope and then backed up for a bit.
"Hm?" He said to himself. He picked up the envelope and put his phone down. He fixed his dark brown hair and opened the envelope with his pale white hands. He fixed his brown eyes on the letter and read it out loud to himself.
"Dear Caleb Walker, You were chosen to participate in a game to become the new God. The current God has kept an eye on you and has seen your observations to things around you. Because of this, using your phone as a scanner allows you to see what objects are useful around you and what are not. 15 others have similar abilities based off of them and are playing in this game to become a God. Your reward of becoming a God? Being able to create a world of your own. That's your reward." Caleb paused for a second. "What? That's it? What am I supposed to even do? Is this a joke?"
"It's no joke," a soft spoken voice said. Caleb jerked his head and saw a girl with dirty blonde hair sitting on his bed. She wore glasses and had a pale-ish white skin. She had blue jeans on and a red jacket that said Sierra Mist on it.
"Oh yeah? How do you know?" Caleb asked.
"God is my friend. I spent 1,000 years with her," the girl said.
"Her? I thought God was a male," Caleb said.
"Not this time. God is determined by a game that usually happens every 1,000 years. That game determines a new God since the old one is dying," the girl said.
"Oh I get it," Caleb said relaxing his shoulders. "You're pulling a prank on me aren't you?"
"Relax Caleb Walker, this is real just like life. Even check your phone if you don't believe me," the girl said. Caleb picked up his phone and turned it on. He noticed an app called 'the game' on his phone. He opened it up and in it appeared his face with all his information. Below him were 15 shadows each with question marks next to their information. He opened up a tab that said ability and it said scanning. Once it finished scanning he pointed his phone around the room and it scanned every object and gave information on what it could do. He pointed it at the girl and no information came up on her.
"Why is no information coming up for you?" Caleb asked.
"Because, I have no information about me. Plus your app only works on objects not humans," the girl said.
"What do I call you then?" Caleb asked.
"The Gods have given me different names. The most recent one has called me Sara, so you can do the same," Sara said. "But I'm not here to help you with killing just an observer."
"Wait killing?" Caleb asked.
"Of course, that is how you win. Find the 15 other people who got the letter and kill them. Or destroy their phone if you don't want to see blood spill," Sara said.
"Wait I still don't," Caleb said as Sara left out of Caleb's window. Caleb sighed, would he really have to kill to become a God?
