Police sirens were going off like crazy where civilians were panically running throughout the streets. Caleb fell down on his knees with shaky hands. He was tricked, nothing but Strat's cause of death was true. It was only 10:30, what happened? Caleb started crying as he saw Christina run over to Jacob. Caleb's breathing quickened and he collapsed. His vision went black as he could only hear screams, crying, and sirens.
...
Caleb awoke with weary eyes, he was in an unfamiliar bedroom. He sat up and looked around him. It was a really nice bedroom and he looked at a picture that was on the desk next to him. It looked like a younger version of Robb and Cameron. He must be in Cameron's house then. Caleb got up and started to walk around. He found Cameron in the kitchen making coffee. Cameron turned around and made eye contact with Caleb.
"How did I get here?" Caleb asked rubbing his head.
"I was in the crowd of the Thanksgiving parade, you've been out since 10:35. It's 4:15 now. I carried you to my car and drove you home," Cameron said sipping his coffee.
"You drove me to your house," Caleb said.
"I don't know where you live sheesh," Cameron said.
"Why did you well help me out?" Caleb asked.
"I've got no one in this game except for you," Cameron said shrugging his shoulders.
"Fair enough," Caleb replied.
"So what exactly were you doing at that parade? I understand you're a student at UC Davis, but you never told me you played the trumpet," Cameron said.
"Well that's because I don't," Caleb said without thinking.
"Wait what?" Cameron asked.
"Oh well, I wanted to save number 13 and well I ended up switching places with one of my friends and oh my god," Caleb said pausing in horror.
"Your friend was the mascot who got shot I assume?" Cameron asked.
"Is he okay? I just heard the shot and saw him fall to the floor. He's okay right, right?" Caleb asked.
"To be honest I don't know," Cameron mumbled.
"I, I just I want to make sure he's okay," Caleb cried.
"Caleb, it's Thanksgiving let's just relax," Cameron said. The oven then went off.
"What was that?" Caleb asked looking around.
"That's the preheating of the oven being done," Cameron said grabbing an uncooked turkey and putting it in the oven.
"Oh okay," Caleb said with a sigh.
"Do you have a family to spend Thanksgiving with? I can drive you over there if you want," Cameron said.
"They're spending time with my 3 siblings right now in North Carolina. I was supposed to go too, but life has been so busy with this game, I didn't have time to catch a flight there," Caleb said.
"Oh that's understandable, in that case you can spend it with me," Cameron said.
"B-But isn't your family coming over?" Caleb asked.
"Just two other friends. I think one of them said that they knew you, but from what I know they aren't part of the game. So don't mention it to them," Cameron said organizing the kitchen.
"Okay thank you for letting me stay," Caleb said.
"No problem," Cameron smiled, "friend."
