Future Diary Episode 23:Cold Sweat

Jacob sat in the hospital bed twiddling his thumbs.

"You passed out on Thanksgiving when talking to me," Sara said.

"I'm aware," Jacob said as he grunted while trying to sit up.

"Do you strongly dislike talking to me or something?" Sara asked.

"No, I enjoy talking to you," Jacob said yawning.

"Mm okay I was just wondering," Sara said.

"Why are you still here though? Shouldn't you be off somewhere where something exciting is happening?" Jacob asked.

"Are you kidding me? The game is about to become really boring, because no one is going to want to make the next move. Just think about it," Sara said.

"Hm you're right. It's one side versus the other with a couple of bystanders more so watching the game," Jacob said placing his finger on his lip.

"It makes you an easy target now doesn't it?" Sara said.

"Yeah I know it does, I hate it I really do," Jacob said with a sigh.

"Your game depends on how the others act for a while, now doesn't it?" Sara asked.

"Yeah, but it always did, I think I'm going to rest for a bit. I'm going to try and clear my mind," Jacob said as he started to close his eyes. Sara smiled as she disappeared from the room.

"In more recent news the mayor died on Thanksgiving day," Mindy said on the news.

"Ah yes, a tragic death. Witnesses say that it was the infamous serial killer Gunshot, but they chose an interesting way to kill the mayor. A knife to the back on the neck is unusual for the infamous serial killer. However no fingerprints were found on the knife, probably due to the fact that Gunshot does kill with gloves on. It was also unusual for them to leave the knife at the scene," Kaeli said.

"They were probably in a rush. They don't usually kill important people in public, nonetheless important people," Mindy said.

"Not only that, but the mascot of UC Davis was shot by what the police say was a sniper," Kaeli said.

"Why of course. The student was Jacob Salisbury, but students of UC Davis say it was quite odd that he was in the mascot suit," Mindy said.

"Well why is that?" Kaeli asked.

"They say that he was part of the marching band for UC Davis, he plays the trumpet apparently," Mindy said.

"That's very strange. However the doctors say the student will survive another day, some people reported that it was a miracle as if he almost dodged the bullet. But he did seem to make the sniper mess up or freak them out, since most sniper's objective is to kill," Kaeli said.

"A really lucky student indeed," Mindy said with a bright, yet seemingly fake, smile.

Friday Morning...

A bullet went through his head.

"Jacob no!" A cry from the crowd shouted. Caleb stood there as he looked down at his shaky hands. The serial killer Gunshot walked up to him pointing a gun to his head. They took off their mask, it was Ariel.

"Now look what you did," Ariel said with a giggle. Caleb looked around, he saw Mason, Jacob, Robb, Jacob, Strat, Dalton, Lillian, and Jeff all lying dead on the floor. Blood drowned their faces and bodies and all Caleb could do was shake.
