(A/N:Just a quick one shot on Ruby and Sanji)

Third pov

Heavy breathing could be heard within Ruby's room. She was curled up into a ball on her bed, and her whole body was shaking. She found it hard to move. She screamed at herself mentally to get off her ass, and grab her vape pen. But she just couldn't.

'What if I get up to grab it, and I slip, and then fall through the floor, and even hurt someone? What if when I get out, someone from under my bed will grab me, and i'll never be seen again? No one will know...They'll wonder where I am but then I'll be dead.'

Tears escaped out of her eyes as her breathing became even faster. She could feel her head feeling light, and that she was losing consciousness. 

'Oh god, someone come in! Dad? Mum? Pearl? Blake? ANYONE?! HELP!'

Ruby jumped when her phone started ringing. She stared hardly at it as the phone buzzed loudly. She stiffly crawled over to her bed, and slammed the answer button. "H-H-H-Hello?" she stammered. "Ruby? Whats wrong? You're breathing heavily!" Ruby felt major relief when she heard the sound of her Father's voice, "D-D-Dad.." she whimpered, "I-I-I'm scared. I just started t-t-t-to panic, a-and I can't stop shaking!" she cried. 

Soon, she heard loud, rushed footsteps run upstairs, and bust through her door. "Ruby!" It was Sanji, her Dad. He was immediately by her side as he made her sit up, and sit in front of him. He held her hands, and made her look at him. Within, Sanji felt his heart deflate when he saw the state of his daughter. Her eyes were wide, and bloodshot. When he put his hand on her forehead, she was piping hot. "Its okay, Ruby. I'm here. Daddy has got you." he reassuringly rubbed her hands with his thumbs, "Nothing bad is going to happen, okay? Mum & I will protect you, no matter what." her breathing started to calm down, "Take slow, deep breaths. I'll do them with you." Just like he promised, they breathed in and out together. Throughout the whole session, he held her hand. Not too tight, but not too loose. When he felt like she was calm enough, he grabbed her vape pen, and gave it to her. Immediately, she set everything up, and clicked the jewel button five times. 

She breathed in, then blew out some harmless smoke. Usually, most people would be against vaping, but since Ruby needed to vape to calm her anxiety, nobody asked questions. As she vaped some more, the calm started to sweep in, and cradle her like a baby. Sanji felt relief as Ruby puffed out one more cloud, before switching the battery off, and putting the pen on charge. "Better?" he asked. Ruby nods, and laid her head on Sanji's lap, "Very..." "What happened? Was it another anxiety attack?" he asked. Ruby nods, "It just..came so suddenly. I wasn't prepared. It actually felt like I was drowning.." Ruby said barely in a whisper. Sanji moved her hair off her face, and gently ticked her daughters face. It was something that he used to do to her when she was a little girl. After a hard day at school, he'd lie her down, and help her nap by tickling her face. It was the next best thing that kept her calm.

"Dad..." "Yes Ruby?" he answered. "I...I don't wanna be like this anymore. I don't want to live in a constant state of worry. Its scary never knowing how a day will go. I'm even afraid of going back to ice skating..." Ruby whimpered. Sanji felt himself stop. "Dad?" she called. Something wet fell on her face. She looked up, and her turquoise eyes went wide when she saw Sanji letting himself cry. "Dad...?" she called quietly. "Ruby, I love you just as much as I love your Mother. Seeing you out there on the ice, it truly makes me a proud Father, seeing you preform to the best of your ability. I know you love it. Its why..its why it makes me feel sad to know that you're starting to feel that way." he wiped away his tears, "Ruby. Your Mother may be busy most days, but I'm still here. I can do everything in my power to make you feel safe wherever you go." Sanji whispers, hugging Ruby.

Ruby's eyes widened a fraction as Sanji cried a little bit into her sweater. She closed her eyes, and hugged him back. "I'm sorry for making you worry, Dad." she whispered. Sanji chuckled, and looked at her, "You're okay, Ruby. There's nothing you need to be sorry for." he kissed her forehead, "It helps me, so that I know I can look out for you for when you feel scared. I'm here for you, and so is your Mother." 

Ruby smiled weakly, "I love you, Dad." "I love you too, Ruby."
