The mud sucked at you as you run, dodging the purple venom the hydra shot at you. "A fucking hydra! You bastards ate uncle Eddy! He raised hydras! Fuck you reptilian sludge shooter!" You flip it off, diving behind jutting rocks as the hydra takes another shot. You cringe, looking back at the steaming rock.
This already wasn't looking good, the mud was slowing you down significantly, plus, you weren't sure you knew any spells that could pierce the heart right away. "I'll have to chip away and avoid getting hit..." You mutter in thought, peering over the rock in time to see the hydra swing it's tail, break your shield and sending you tumbling through the mud. You sit up and cough, glaring at the hydra, it sure sent you far.
You stand, body overheating and drying the mud. You bring the earth left over to your hands and making it harden into a spike. "Maybe ranged..." You mutter blasting the spike at the hydra. You frown heavily when it shatters against the scales. "Not strong enough..."
The hydra sends a giant spit of venom at you. "Oh shit." You dive out of the way and quickly trudging out of range. It's tail lashes and it stands from the mud, getting ready to come at you. Cursing in all the languages you knew, you look around for a place to hide, finding nothing close enough. "I hate this place." You mutter, sipping your breathing potion before diving into the mud, staying still as the ground starts to shake as the hydra approaches.
'Fire can't pierce the armor... I can only rely on earth...' You frown, feeling a foot move next to you. You sit up a bit, opening your eyes to the underbelly. You swing your arm, making an earth spike shoot up, but it's too soft, splatting against the underbelly. Silently cursing, you retreat back into the mud. 'That didn't work.. I'll have to dry out this whole area.... Maybe... Lava will work.'
The hydra soon moves on and you get up from the mud, looking back at the beast. Taking out the lava brew, you down the bottle, ignoring the burning in you veins. You put your hands in the mud, focusing. "Lava takeover." You growl, fire rippling beneath the mud rapidly, drying up the immediate area and starting to liquefy the earth around you. The hydra hisses out in surprise, turning on you.
You glance up, making a lava shield sprout up to shield you from the venom. It explodes against the heat, making you wince. The hydra hisses lowly swinging it's tail out you. Ducking down, a frown crosses your lips. Your power was already draining. "Alright bastard. Lets see you take this." You growl, a lava wave building up behind you. It rushes past, building up before colliding into the hydra, making it shriek, head going back. It's tail, lashes around, severing it's own head.
"... No... I didn't know they did that..." You back up in shock as two more heads sprout with a raging cry. It's claws grip the dried up lava that held it and break off some. "No you don't!" You dash forward and punch the stone that held it, making a spike go through it's chest to the back.
The hydra shrieks out with both heads before spitting venom at you. Flipping out of the away, you hiss out when the burning venom meets your hand. You hold out your hand and whimper slightly. Apparently you had missed your mark- another head drops, making your eyes widen as two more sprout out. "Stop decapitating yourself dammit!" You shout running out of the way of three more globs of venomous spit. You raise your good hand, making a stone staircase jut out of the ground so you can try to get on the hydras back, from there you would be able to manipulate the spike already inside it.
The hydra's tail hits you from behind, sending you high above the battlefield. You retrieve a breath, coughing and pulling the mud up to catch you on your decent. You hit it with a splat before sitting up, feeling utterly exhausted. The hydra shrieks as it tries to free itself from your spike. You look back at it, wondering what you could do with the little earth magic you had left.
