You know how people always say their worlds have been turned upsaide down? That is my entire life right there. One day I'm living a crappy life with my brother, father, and Demon, and now I have magical powers and an awkward boy who has the same powers but exactly opposite. If that doesn't make any sense, it's because it doesn't make any sense.
"Caelum..." I started. I don't even know what to say. "When does your powers trigger?"
"When I get really scared or frightened," he answers right away, like he's a robot. "What about you?" He asks me.
"When I'm extremely angry. I don't understand! We live on Earth. In the real world. Not some fantasy made up one like you read in books!" Caelum starts pacing back in forth in front of me. What the heck is this?
" I think...we should..." He begins.
"We can't tell anyone...right?" I ask interrupting him.
" No. They'll think we're crazy," he exclaims.
"Aren't we though? We have POWERS. We must be crazy on some level," I say getting a worked up,
"What if this is just all a joke? HAHAHA yeah! That's what's happening!!" He says a bit delusional.
"Caelum...calm down. You're scaring me..." Silence filled the room. I don't know if it was awkward or not, I was focusing too much on what the heck just happened.
"I'm sorry. Does anyone know about...your powers?" I hesitate. Spencer saw the holes but he doesn't know I caused it using my eyes.
"No. What about you? Your parents know?" His eyes darken and I imediately regreted asking him. He's so mysterious.
"I only have my mother. I ran away from her a year ago," I felt so jealous all of a sudden. I wish I ran away. Maybe I should. Where would I go to?
"Caelum. This might sound crazy...can I move in with you?"
"WHAT?" He looked at me like I had two heads.
"Well you must be living on your own and I want to move away and if we live at differet places, how are we supposed to keep each other from destroying the place?" He took a while to answer so I went over my statement again in my head, making sure I said the most logical thing (which I did).
"Follow me," he says with a sigh. Maybe things are going to turn up.

"This is where I'm going to sleep?" I ask in a surprised tone. Unbelievable. The sheets are fire red neatly made on a king sized bed. The blinds are open, showing off the amazing view. There's a door to my right that leads to a bathroom. MY OWN BATHROOM.
"Yeah. I hope you don't mind the 'red' theme. I have a 'blue' theme if you want to switch.
"Don't be ridiculous! I love red!" I practically yell still taking in the room.
"Okay well I'll leave you alone. We can order pizza tonight so tell me when you're hungry." He exits the room before I can tell him thank you. I jump on my bed, hugging the soft blankets. I could get used to this. I sit up against my head board when I notice a phone on the bed side table. Woah, it's brand new (and not cheep). It must be Caelum's.
"Caelum! You left your phone in my room!" He ducks his head in with a puzzled expression as I hold up the expensive phone.
"Oh that. That's yours," he says nonchalantly.
"WHAT!? I can't accept this," I shake my head as I hand it to him.
"I already have one. If you don't take it, it will just be a waste of money," he says. Darn he made it sound logical.
"Fine. I'll take it," he turns to leave but I stop him.
"Wait!" He turns back. I jump off my bed and I hug him.
"Thank you...so much," usually I would never do this to a guy, but with Caelum I feel safe. Who doesn't like to feel safe?
"You're welcome, Scar," he says sweetly
"Why 'Scar'?" I ask curiously.
"It's the first syllable of your name. Plus, when you talk, you leave scars on people's hearts. Scars that can't be removed. That's why people like you. They want to be scarred. Not me though. If you want to scar me, you're going to have to actually try. Until then, you will be 'Scar'. Think of it as a taunt," he starts down the hall saying nothing else. "Good night, Scar,"
"Good night," I whisper.
